Stupidity and taste is subjective, it already belongs to the cultural heritage of humanity.
keep in mind this is the guy who wrote lux aurumque, ghost train, and october. three absolutely gorgeous pieces, and then this. this entire piece is literally a shitpost and i can't stop listening to it.

And then you find out the melody line for the opening of Ghost Train was a numerical device based on an ex girlfriend’s phone number 💀
Being a choir practise, "now scream, now bark like a dog". Lol

He's showing the passion that not just he, but the entire orchestra has for this performance. :)
Aghhh the seniors in my school played this for spring music night this year and it was the best way to end off the first seniors graduating from music😭 such memories bro I get so much nostalgia from listening to this even though the music night was only just a few weeks before now😭
I think the most difficult part about performing this as a choir is to not lose your voice while doing the screams lmao

Possibly one of the most fun songs to play I have ever heard in my life. Eric Whitacre is a friggin genius!
I had a chance to perform this in high school for my senior year spring concert. Honestly, one of my favorite memories.
I still cannot believe this is a real thing... XD

Eric Whitacre really said im bored imma make a shit post
I love all the little quotations. It sounds more like Godzilla is eating New York than Las Vegas, but I'm into it. We need this performed at the Proms next year!
Easily the BEST version of this piece I've listened to!!!
Ok but the three note Godzilla theme is super good, like it needs to be in a Godzilla film
An amazing choir conducted by the composer. What more could anyone ask? Fantastic!
This is stupid done so incredibly right. Sometimes music is just fun and can still be something of a masterpiece lol
cant be a gamer without a RGB choir

Playing October with my high school's wind symphony and my teacher mentioned this piece during practice. It might honestly be the best thing I've ever heard-
A wonderful crazy composition, not easy to play not easy to sing...
This is the guy who made lux aurumque
I don't know what this is, but I do not regret listening.
Chaotic. Epic. Magnificent. Ridiculous. Marvelous. Thrilling.
GENIUS!

100 percent on purpose. Pulling from Holst has been a tool for film composers for a long time, and Whitacre's taking a parody angle at film music with this piece.
