This is a sad but wholesome origin story for Godzilla. Instead of being an accident of nuclear fallout or revenge of Mother Nature. Godzilla is just a small lizard that was rescued by a kind scientist who wanted to protect the world from nuclear weapons. A+ writing mineral.

Damn. I wanted to cry when I heard the music box at the end. For those who don't know. The music box at the end is playing "Who will know" from Shin Godzilla. A very tragic song that I think everyone should listen to at least once.

@@Averagevegitoenjoyer It's a song from the soundtrack in Shin Godzilla, which talks about how that version of Godzilla (a mutated tadpole) was always in extreme pain as his body keeps mutating, and how he wants to die but his body doesn't allow it. This version of Godzilla is very similar to that one.

Another touch was that when the amphibian is mutating, it plays the first few notes of Godzilla's original theme from 1954 on piano.

I've never seen this version of godzilla before, I only hope that the cute little salamander becomes an anti hero after being mutated, and not an abomination.

I've been following this artist for a while and I love their horror versions of other Kaiju. Biollante instead of a plant, it is a large mass of human flesh. It only has the same shape of the classic Biollante. Anguirus, originally a separated flesh parts of godzilla only to mutate to become "tadpoles" and then mutated again and fused together to become a blood and bone shaped Anguirus. Mechagodzilla are flesh parts that got blown off of godzilla and decided to merge itself with nearby machines and vehicles such as tanks and its main weapon a form of a battleship in its head. The only kaiju who are not fleshy abominations are Mothra and Ghidorah. Mothra is an "angel" while Ghidorah is an eldritch being.

So in this universe, Serizawa is a bit more like a father figure to Reed (Godzilla). Love the creativity. ❤
