Literally almost every Godzilla movie ever has had between 7-10 minutes of Godzilla. Even the Japanese/Toho films aside from MAYBE the latter Millennium era films like Final War. Every Monsterverse movie with Godzilla has had about the same amount of him. Even 2014. Time it/look it up if you don't believe that. Minus One actually had the same or maybe even a little less..

My favourite part was when Godzilla Godzillad all over the place

Godzilla was definitely the MVP of this movie he wanted all of the smoke & was ducking no one. • Woke up • Killed a Scylla • Crushed the army again • Killed the even stronger Tiamat • Took a power nap • Unlocked Kaioken • Kicked his rivals ass again • Reunited with his resurrected girlfriend • Made friends with his rival • Competed in a tag team match with his rival against his rival’s evil nemesis, & the Og titan whose twice his size and started the fucking ice age • Stopped the second Ice age • Went back to sleep.

That new form is awesome one 😊😊😊😎😎😎💪💪💪

Also it’s because Godzilla doesn’t have a home to return to after he’s done with his work after serizawa sacrificed himself to revive Godzilla in KOTM, which also destroyed his home. Godzilla needs a home, and I guess the coliseum will have to do the job.

Part of the aspects of his evolution was in order for him to be better at melee combat honestly. Longer forelimbs for grappling, that thagomizer on the end of his tail for devastating tail swipes, the defense elbow spikes, more fit form, and honestly even his face becoming a bit more spiked and armored would assist in protecting his eyes. The brow ridges make his face look more like Ghidorah’s face (faces?) which would make sense if he has at least SOME control of what he would evolve when he went into hibernation to change.

Even though there were some parts cut out pretty sure this is less screentime than Godzilla 2014 and JUST like that movie I didn't even REALIZE how much less screen time he had until WAY later rewatching the movie for like the umteenth time and seeing reviews of how they actually thought he wasn't in it as much as he should've been. I guess both reasons i didn't notice how little he actually showed up is that I was engaged with the story and my boi goji made every second he was on screen count. I guess it's kinda like death from puss in boots where the badass force of nature was so cool that his screentime was the last thing I thought about 😅
