I remember lending my friend my copy of Skinny Fists and I got a call later that evening. He told me that Static is one of the worst songs he's ever heard. Asked why and, long story short, it gave him his first panic attack. He was describing feelings of dread, panic, nervousness and started having a physical reaction. Sweating, dizzyness, blurred vision..he thought he was dying. I kinda felt bad but at the same time I was glad I wasn't the only person to have the same reaction.

No. You need to look at how the songs fit in to an album context and review them from there. You don't read a book by flickering between the pages at random, to see what your favourite one is. You look at the pages in the context of how they fit together, one after another.

dude, awesome video!
For me Diminishing Shine (0:24) is probably their most moving track. Its simplicity, paired with the lo-fi quality has some almost-hypnotic effect on my emotions. I digress it's a strange choice of song, but that's how it is.

I find it hard to disagree, it's really fucking good. Even if the whole tape was just that song, it's 27 year hunt would have been worth every second spent searching for it.

I heard Diminishing Shine for the first time a couple of months ago and was very impressed: this is real, real music, I can listen to this all the time, this is music that lives

It is important to look at the song within an LP context. Otherwise you don't know a good song from bad or a good album from bad.

No. You need to look at how the songs fit in to an album context and review them from there. You don't read a book by flickering between the pages at random, to see what your favourite one is. You look at the pages in the context of how they fit together, one after another.
