Godspeed Grant Wahl
Hello dear friends,
I have stopped #CoffeeWithGuillem after the dreadful news of the departure of our common friend Grant Wahl. I am still in Doha and will continue for a while. I will follow Messi’s tournament very closely, and write about it for the BBC web page, and talk about it on BBC 5Live. But it just doesn’t feel right to film in the way I have been doing, bringing you stories, places, moods.
My editor, Arya Yuyutsu at @FortyTwoMedia, prepared a wonderful tribute to Grant based on the chats we had in #CoffeeWithGuillem episodes so far. And this will be, for now, my way of finishing this series for this World Cup.
Grant was journalism, for me, his commitment to the profession admirable, and the quality of his work remarkable. He was a friend too and you will see all that reflected in his little video, the last one from Doha. RIP Grant, and my most deepest condolences to his wife Celine and his family. Have a wonderful rest of the World Cup, my friends!

Terribly sorry for your loss honestly only came across Grant in your videos the other week when you was speaking too him soo sad god bless him and he’s family.

I vaguely remember seeing it in bookstores but at that time I was into home improvement/DIY projects so everything else got an "oooh" or a "someday". How the time flies

Really sad. The first thing I thought about was how his peers - especially yourself - would commemorate his work and his professional and social camaraderie. RIP.
