This song was released in a VERY dark time of my life, new father, little money, bills to pay, i was ON the edge. Constantly beaten down and told i couldnt succeed. Then Inside yourself happened, i now have a grip on my anxiety, my life, my money. I got married and i now own a business. My brother Jeff Scruggs was in a motorcycle accident this past weekend 9/3/16. He is in ICU in Ft. Worth, TX. with a serious brain injury. He is in a coma at this time and unresponsive. But, I know he can hear me. "Inside yourself" is his favorite song and I play it for him every day in the room. So, I guess I just wanted to say thank you for the music guys. still godsmack. still a fan, still love their music and they still have a huge influence on the music i write so no ones opinion will ever change that. people hate on slipknot metallica disturbed korn slayer man these guys got it started for my generation of music got a sound going for these new guys who built off this sound and its overlooked all the time. my style on guitar is built off of grunge and thrash metal but here lately I've been revolving around guys like periphery and august burns red cause kids these days are into that and not my style of music. but i love metalcore.

This song is a perfect representation of my life right now. I have had been told that I am worthless my entire life and the judgement takes me to a bad place. Some might think I like being told what is wrong with me, but no one does. I hope that the people who have hurt me know I am not broken and only I can pick myself back up and prove them wrong everyday. Godsmack has helped me through a lot.

Well, this is another animal for Sully. Literally, it sounds like Another Animal with Sully. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. I loved the consistency of Godsmack for years and years, but I also welcome the artistic changes he's started allowing finally. Something Different, now this. It's not old Godsmack, but it certainly sounds fresh for them, and it sounds like they're having fun making it. It was unexpected, but I like it, so I say, keep it coming.
