I am in the final stages of lung cancer (non-smoker, go figure) and currently in hospice care. Weeks only left amongst you all, brothers & sisters. This album has carried me for months, giving me the strength to face what's coming. Thank you, Godsmack, for providing the soundtrack of the rest of my life. That was my Dad.. He was bulletproof. He looked 50 when he was 70. The only thing that took him down was stage 4 prostate cancer. He met this illness and all his injuries head on. We lost him on April 3 2011 and I still miss him sometimes life sucks....

To all the haters: Music is not about staying the same. No music is the same. If you truly love music, then you understand and appreciate the spirit of the music. Heavy metal is no longer Godsmack, they're more like hard rock now. Why? Because people now think of screamo music as metal, or death core is heavy metal. People used to think Def Leppard and Aerosmith was heavy metal. Now, they're classic rock. And also, in todays world, there's so much negativity, such as people thinking Godsmack is "selling out". Ever consider they're actual caring human beings and maybe, JUSt maybe they're trying to do their part in shining a little positivity into the world with their music? And yeah, its making them rich beyond belief, but they deserve it. Just my 2 cents. Yeah, share your opinion, but like, don't hate on them just because they're not what youre used to.

I first heard this song one week into my 2 week notice of the job i was leaving. Every day i had left i would play this before i got to work, to remind myself to stay strong against their attempts to keep me there. The last day i left i played this song at full volume in the parking lot to drown out my crazy angry boss who was calling the police on me for idk what reason. it's a good song for a generic mainstream rock song this is them experimenting a different style hey it did attract a different audience in some capacity to listen to them but they do need to make songs like these longer if they want more success they went a bit to generic and short on this one good song but could be a lot better why so many people are disappointed and this is my honest opinion on it ,

Here to show respect to the last generation of true rock stars🤘

I see a lot of comments saying that Godsmack has sold out or they don't like the new music from them. But I just think that the band members have gotten older and changed like we all do. They've had things happen in life that have changed the way they see the world and how they feel about things. So why it may seem like they've sold out to some, in all actuality their singing about their life experiences or feelings! I personally love music that is sung with heart, emotion and meaning rather than just a bunch of words thrown together or music all about sex or getting high. I love Godsmack both old and new and I really hope they continue making more songs like this and 'Under your scars' because they really help me deal with my mental illnesses and PTSD! And there's actually a few songs from other artists that I would love to hear Sully sing because his voice is spectacular and not like everyone else's out there.

@@krystleberry9661 thank you! I love the fact that these bands don't just sing what they think people want to hear to stay relevant. They sing what they're going through, been through and to help their fans deal with certain things. Plus I have always liked how some of their songs have so many people thinking it's about one thing but it's actually about something completely different to Godsmack. It allows the listener to hear what they want and use that song as an anthem in a sense for what their personally experiencing. Like "Voodoo" everyone thought it was about heroin. Anyway Godsmack is just getting better with age in my opinion!

Why do people think that, when a notoriously heavy band releases one relatively softer song, that they're trying to be "radio-friendly"? We all know better with the likes of these guys. They write from the heart and perhaps they just felt inclined to write something like this. It's a beautiful song and still has some Godsmack grit to it. I would absolutely expect the new album to be as brutal and nasty as any of its predecessors. Well done, fellas!

I had no idea this was Godsmack when I heard it on the radio. They're style has certainly evolved in the newer generation, and they still ROCK

Not gonna debate the "Old Godsmack sound" vs. the "new"... you either love it or aren't impressed. I will say that if a band goes more "radio friendly", is it really that bad of a thing? Means new fans. More fans means more music and tours. You can say its a sell out, but any band that's making music for public consumption is doing it for some money as well as their other reasons. I've listened to this, Blood, Red Cold River (BB) and the new Shinedown, and I for one can't WAIT to see Godsmack and Shinedown this spring.

Josh Ben-Dan I'm pretty sure they are already millionaires considering the number of singles they've put out that have gone #1. So they probably could care less. The band is getting old, Sully is nearly 50 years old, he probably wants to do something different...even if it isn't as creative.

One, Sully is 50, two, who cares if their going more mainstream. For as long as these guys are still writing and rocking, they will always make badass music. These guys are loved because they write the music they want to write, and fuck the consequences.

Godsmack might be the best band out there right now. Their whole catalogue from '98 until now is great. No band has a lead singer like Sully, plus their style/arrangement. I agree this song isn't as hard as what we're used to from them but it still rocks. 🤘

Sully Erna is one of the best musicians in the world, he delved into a lot of different styles of music, from rock and role to slow rock to acoustic metal and nu-metal Respect

I met Godsmack in Jacksonville couple months ago, I’ve seen every tour, and they were unbelievably Humble guys, I was the first guy to show up at Jacksonville stadium that morning watched them come out and do sound check, they saw me thrue the fence came out and handed me a VIP pass for the whole show, Blew my mind!!! Thank you Godsmack
