    love the video, the style, content presentation, and demonstration of features! I currently use the ad400 pro's for in studio and on location, but am thinking about adding either a couple of DP400iii's or AD200 Pro's for background, hairlight, etc. I am currently leaning toward the DP shown in this video due to output, as well as the fact that I am not sure about battery life and what constant usage and charging will do to the batteries of the AD200 and 400's. Also I use the AC charger/adapter that comes with on my ad400's while in longer studio sessions and again am not sure if that will ruin the batteries over time. Any advice on which direction to go and if the light (color, speed, and output) will be compatible with ad400's in the same shot?

    hey there! Great video! I'm looking into this strobe but i'm kind of on the fence because of the modelling light and flash tube overheating. Does it get too hot when you use it for a shoot? Was considering the AD200, but the lack of modelling light there throws me off (there is a modelling light with the fresnel head, but not with the barebulb, which would be the one i would use most)

    Thanks for the video. I just bought two 1000iii's and I'm having trouble getting them to remember my settings. I like to have my power output set to decimal point. Every time I unplug and replug the lights, it resets to fraction. While using a remote trigger, sometimes it switches back without losing power. Any solution for this?

    I did get the HSS to work on my DP800iii and had a loss of power which was expected with HSS. My question is how do you either set or read what the flash duration is any given power? Some sources say the fastest sync speed 1/2000 is at full power or 1/2. however on the Paul C buff Einsteins I use at work the lower the power of the light the faster the duration. Do you happen to have some magical chart that might aid with this? I guess I can shoot a moving fan blades at different powers and see which freezes the blades. Thanks I have enjoyed your videos

    Hello, First of all, i would like to thank you for all your Godox lights videos, that help a lot when choosing products. However, i would like to point out that there is a big misunderstanding regarding HSS capacity on this product. turning on HSS on your trigger will not make that light "HSS compatible" it will just allow you to set your camera to higher shutter speeds. Because this light is a "standard" light flash bulb with a t0.1 and t0.5 and not a IGBT light, it will not be able to produce, full, consistent, and adapted flash light when going to shutter speeds higher than 1/250 or around... you should correct it, because it's misleading people into thinking they will be able to use this flash along with other lights that are HSS capable. Regards,

    Hi guys, I grabbed the DP400III mainly because of this video demonstrating the compatibility with HSS, even though Godox themselves do not directly state this. Alas I can see it is not working, as it is illuminating wrongly and not following the shutter curtain as it should. I'm using a Nikon Z7ii with the X2 trigger and the HSS mode is working fine on my old Nikon SB700 with the X1R as well as the Godox TT600. As I do not see a way to make a firmware update to the DPIII series, what settings did you enabled on your camera beyond HSS to allow for the DP400III to follow the speed? If I cannot get this to run HSS, i'm gonna have to ship it back and invest in the QT range, so I really hope you got a minute to check this :).

  • @hypop

    @hypop

    2 жыл бұрын

    We shot with Sony so perhaps that could be a compatibility issue with the newer Nikon Z7II. We simply enabled HSS on the trigger and ensured the mounted flash settings allowed HSS also (despite it being a trigger mounted)

  • @danieljespersen1768

    @danieljespersen1768

    @@hypop Thanks for taking the time to clarify! Makes sense that the various systems and revisions could end up with different outcomes to that :). Then at least for others, this series of Nikon doesn't seem to work for HSS with the DP set of flashes; I did get a QT400 instead and although pricier, I can at least confirm it does what it says on the tin at least! Thanks for the video and time either way.

I have a 600 pro and the 200 flash as well. When I isolate all of the others, they flash. I decided to buy a 3rd light just for kicks and once again, I have the same issue. Whether I put both on the same channel or not, that unit still doesn't flash. Could it be an outlet issue?

    If your camera has a PC sync port, you can use a simple sync cord instead of a wireless trigger to connect to and fire the flash. In a lot of cases, this is what I prefer. It’s simple, reliable, and costs a lot less than a wireless trigger.

    Also is there a Godox customer service in the US? If I knew their entire operation was overseas, I would have gone with a different brand.

    The best place for customer support is from your place of purchase. If you purchased from an authorised Godox dealer like B&H in the US you should have no issues with any tech questions or warranty queries.

    Godox won't tell you so it's probably shit. All they show is 1/800-1/2000. But that's probably t.5 or worse. It's a cheaper strobe so it probably won't perform like an expensive Profoto.

    No TTL as it's a studio light. Look at the AD400Pro or AD600Pro if you're after a TTL light.
