This has gotta be the best collab ever in terms of gacha. Not only is it world-appropriate, it's also plot-appropriate. And yes it's got "plot", but the actual plot gets kinda depressing, so fare warning to newcomers. Also, highly recommend playing on PC for the best experience.

This game is fucking good. It’s surprisingly well written compared to what I expected, the characters are genuinely cool (except Crow, fuck that bitch), the designs are awesome all round, the voice acting is great, the music absolutely bangs, and I actually like the gameplay. All around, I love this game and everyone should play it until the plot makes you cry too much.

I played Nikke for like 15 minutes when it came out. What I dislike about gachas is how they easily become a second job with the grinding, so even if I love Fate, I had to drop Fate GO after a few years, meaning that I most likely won't be joining Nikke, despite how alluring it looks.

the daily chores are quite fast to complete once you're over the various difficulty walls, however things like campaign progress, raids and pvp can waste alot of time, so its up to you, give it a try, if its too time consuming at the start, maybe quit then.

Tbh about Genshin... about what you said when comparing it to Feh ages ago. Its kinda unfair to compare a 3D open world with 3d character models to...a bunch of top down maps with 2d sprites that have sameface syndrome. Sure Genshin has a few model presets but name 10 Feh characters that have different faces. Also Feh is more bloated due to having more units while Genshin doesn't have quite as mant. Its 800 or 1200 Feh characters vs 60-70 Genshin characters. Of course the gacha rates for Feh are more bloated than with Genshin and Aloy aside, Genshin has no other event limited only characters...or pay to get characters. You get a whole lot more in Genshin combat and skill wise than a just another Robin or Camilla reskin with same skills. At least the Genshin characters are unique enough from each other...even Aloy. Hence why I wanna personally wanna see you return to Genshin one day...maybe when the story is finished and the rates are more lenient. They will do it.

Looks like there’s a lot of anti gacha game people in the comments. Well let me tell you, Nikke’s writing is better than the majority of the woke infested AAA games these days. Also the advantage gacha games has over $60 games is that they get content updates on a regular basis vs an often incomplete game that will die once you’ve played through it.

all true, however the extremely exploitative monetisation systems are particularly brutal in Nikke, as a big fan of the game its easily the worst aspect of it.

This is a really troublesome situation for me. On one hand, I hate the current trend of console games toning down fanservice (mostly due to American imposed censorship), so games like Nikke should be right up my alley, Except that they're Free-to-play Gatcha with FOMO crap to entice players, which is a monetization model I despise to the depths of my soul.

Unpopular opinion: I don't like Nier Automata at all. I have the game and I never finished it and I found it really boring in every way. I don't think story was interesting in the least and I don't feel like finishing Route B which I am currently on to make the game better which I don't see happening. So I don't see myself ever playing Nikke either. I did however pick up Blue Archive recently and while gameplay isn't that fun the story and characters really made the game appealing to me and I was already drawn in by the character designs there.

I agree with Nier being boring, however I love Nikke and I’ve tried blue archive and couldn’t get into it, mainly cause you can’t keep the pity currency. Story might be good but I’m satisfied following Nikkes story.

Everything but the core gameplay is good and appealing...the gameplay is mid af sadly though

I would absolutely love to get into Nikke right now but the gacha system it has in INSANELY GREEDY It basically requires you to always spend $15 to get any amount of currency and it depletes completely after 1 pull. It makes it border line unplayable without spending $50 every month

I disagree. I've been getting the 5$ monthly card ever since I started playing and I've been able to pull all the limited characters so far. The key is planning ahead. Pilgrims and collab units are the top priority, everyone else is added to the standard pool in the next patch and they can spook you at any given moment. Nikke has the edge over other gachas because you can build up *pity* which can be used to claim any unit you want as long as their banner is up. Sounds like you roll on every single banner/ you just roll without a plan. Try that in a different gacha and tell me if its any different (spoiler: you will have to spend money).

@@femto9838 correct, except for the part where having a unit Max limit broken gives you a serious power boost that scales long term, having just 1 copy of each new unit, especially in regards to pilgrim+collabs, isn't really enough to compete at high end play, and hard mode campaign progression.

@@Vihara2 The power boost you mention is hardly noticeable unless you go for MLB+ cores. 99% of supports don't even need MLB unless you want the home screen animation. Cores are roughly 2% extra performance which is negligible on most units. I get that having extra copies makes you character slightly stronger but that has nothing to do with what I said. If you're saving for Pilgrims+collabs and skip most standard units you'll definitely have enough gems to secure more than one copy of the unit you want, especially collabs units since they have a 2% rates.

@@femto9838Their POW levels are heavily dependent on cores however, Hard Campaign prog in particular is heavily dependent on this, although it affects day/week1 players moreso than newer ones ill admit. There's a heap of nikkes i have that i cannot use in my hardmode prog because they aren't MLB, despite having high skill levels+4 OC gears.
