Ya but there is an inherent assumption that an intelligent creature designed it na, it would probably be better to say "we don't know" Idk for sure Also, there are many random mutations, the ones who get such a mutation which helps them survive, become more in number with time(cuz the ones who don't get it die), again some random mutation which helps these organisms survive might happen, and the cycle goes on

The universe could not have created itself; it could not have come from nothing. Nothing cannot produce something.
