What makes it more impressive is the pure emotion that goes into it, he doesn't just growl or screech because it's "the thing to do" he does it with real emotion, soul and character not seen since Varg in his prime.

I have witnessed Gaahl in front of Gorgoroth, God Seed and Gaahl's Wyrd....there is no other vocalist like him inside BM scene, his presence is so strong and intense, and his voice is totally mesmerizing and haunting. He is N:o 1.
