You can see How good game developers these guys are when you see that even the leftovers of their ideas are great

Hope they remaster the Greeks games one day for the PS5 or even PS6 much later... and they bring back all those last levels and complete them. That would be freaking awesome.

Just like what happened with crash games

I'll never forget how excited I was to play this back in the day. I ended up taking the day off school just so I could play it haha. I was so mad at the end with that tease, especially having to wait years for the third game. Well worth it in the end though.

Rhodes market place, Aegean beach and Road to Sparta would be very interesting enviroments for this game. Sadly, it wasn't in the game. Unlike the god of war 1 that still presents the City of Athens, the other games are very distant from that human side and ended up going to an excessively mythological side. Having environments like historical cities, showing armies, architectural elements of that time, all of this in my opinion would bring much more immersion in the game, as AC Odissey did. After all, what brings us to the game is that admiration for the Greek world and its culture.

Eu concordo! Por mais que eu goste e prefiro a direção e cenários do GOW2 do que o GOW1, devo dizer que faltou um pouco de construções humanas comuns e cenários naturais. Eu apenas me pergunto onde essas áreas se encaixariam com o caminho e cenários da versão final... Kratos nunca passa em algum lugar com praia, perto da água em si (que nos levaria à Atlantis), o vulcão. Dá para ver no vídeo que o Kratos está com sua armadura e espadas quando tinha os poderes de deus, será que isso seria no início do jogo e depois iriamos para Rhodes? É uma possibilidade.

Road to Sparta and the Rhoad's market was the best part, happily thay added Sparta in the Ghost Of Sparta, and the major theme it's about Sparta

Still the best GOW.

I liked God of War and its music so much back in the days on PS2.

At 1:40, we can see that Kratos has a magic that has not been used in the game. It appears to be some magic gauntlets. The symbol for the gauntlets was found in the E3 Demo version of God of War 2, and it resembles a snowflake, so, maybe this was intended as some type of ice magic. Maybe Kratos would have gotten those gauntlets at some ice mountain (like the one where we see Typhoon and Prometheus)? Or maybe in Atlantis? Hmmm... How about "Gauntlets of Atlantis"? Gauntlets that control the water and ice, blessed by Poseidon himself. The gauntlets are able to shoot ice, freeze enemies, trap enemies in water bubbles and create an ice storm. I would prefer that ice magic rather than Euryale's head, that's just a copycat of Medusa's head from God of War 1, and it isn't a very useful magic. Now, most of those lost levels look amazing! Why didn't they use it? Maybe God of War 2 was planned to be much larger than the final product. We would go to Atlantis years before God of War: Ghost of Sparta! The Colosseum, The Road to Sparta, Rhodes Marketplace, The Aegean Sea, The Tomb, Mount Etna and Atlantis would be amazing and memorable areas to go through in God of War 2, but, instead, we just got the Island of Creation (home of the Sisters of Fate). That's ok, tho. Hopefully someone can remake these levels or make a mod to enable these ice gauntlets (Gauntlets of Atlantis) in the game.

Exactly what i think. God of War series in my opinion are too far from the "human side" of that culture and mithology. All what the god of war games have is pharaonical buildings who not even existed at that time. Showing historical cities, human armies, architetural elements, all of this would bring more imersion to the game.

That power was later used in Chains of Olympus and also in God of War 3 as an item, but in different form and usage overall. According to someone I know, it IS possible to restore it in the demo but maybe not on retail, give this engine is a GoW 1 and 2 hybrid.

@@xGMV in Chains of Olympus, it became the Gauntlet of Zeus (a sub-weapon, like the Barbarian Hammer or the Blade of Olympus) and in God of War 3, it became the Ice of Boreas (an item to complete the Labyrinth of Daedalus), but this "Gauntlets of Atlantis" can't be activated anymore (not even if you use cheat codes in the God of War 2 demo, since the gauntlets become invisible and it can crash the game), unfortunately. You can restore some unused stuff in the God of War 2 demo to some degree, since most of the things you can't use normally in the demo either are unusable, glitchy or crash the game.

When God of War 2 was released, the game developers had no idea about the Ghost of Sparta game, since it would only be released after God of War 3. As showed in the Deleted Levels video, Atlantis probably was cut due to memory/hardware limitations.

Adding Atlantis would be kinda overkill tbh. Gow 2 is probably the best game on the ps2 already, imagine going to Atlantis on it

Holy shit, those cut levels look pretty awesome.

Those features weren't in the disc like God of War 1 or CoO and GoS. But at last you found them and you upload them. Congratulations cause u are an old gamer !!

If they not cut this lost level. They just make DLC for the last spartan or we can play as the last spartan dlc. So sad

Fun fact : the road to sparta appear in the final battle with Ares for background

The road of Sparta is in Gow Ghost of Sparta

All those Sparta sections were meant to get more attached to Sparta so that when zeus finally destroys sparta it hits the player that all those levels you just went through no longer exist.

One cut content is that when you get to the cutscene with Zeus Kratos has Blue Blades. It could be because of the blade but do you guys think there would have been a level 6 to your Blades? I think so.

That's just an oversight. It led people to believe Kratos got his godly powers back and as such the blades were "pure" again, instead of filled with rage when they are red. But nope this is an oversight. Fun fact: The blue lit blades are actually weaker than the red lit ones, although all moves are available, it's equivalent to normal level 3 in power.

po cara essas mapas ai dao uma imersão maior ao jogo, ia ser tao massa um mapa na praia, nunca tem, imagina ce fazer mo aventura pra chegar na ilha da criação, ai a gente ao inves de voar com o pegasus iriamos se aventurar pela grecia e no final iamos pra ilha passava alguns desafios e depois fazia o final

Cut contents always has been incredible specially in gow series, I wonder why they cut from final test.

man, i miss games like this, just pure awesomeness, arcade game play, with awesome action, and cinematics. too few games are made like this today, and while i have not played the latest god of war, of what i have seen it does not look as fun as the original games.

I wonder if you got this to play on pc on pcsx2 or rpcs3 if you could load any of these cut maps from the game files hmm although the maps and files with them were likely removed on release for disc space

There is a 2005 build of GoW 2 in several sites but I can't seem to download them. You can find it if you search like; "God of War II Prototype"

Notice most of these lost levels have been reused in other god of war games after gow2
