Even if you guys don't play the game, you should watch the edited cutscenes for Injustice: Gods Among Us 2. It's better than most of the DC movies and is one of the best Justice League stories since the old cartoon.

That cutscene at the end of the Zeus fight can play out forever, the one where the screen gets completely covered in blood. It does not stop until you stop mashing circle. After 3 games of this, they figured theyd let us beat him as long as we wanted lol

First time I played, I was so enraged against Zeus I completely missed the death sound and I punched him for half an hour 😂😂😂

Fun fact: all of God of War soundtrack has their own lyrics that tell us more about the story or a specific character, for example, the soundtrack that plays when Kratos looks at the ruined world after the death of Zeus, literally sings "The end of the world, the end of the gods".

Kratos stabbed himself at the end because he couldn't trust Athena nor himself to use the power for good, so he let it disperse across the world instead

The ending was basically Kratos giving that power of hope to the remaining humans alive. Which is why Athena was pissed since she wanted that power.

Fun fact Hephaestus was voiced by Rip Torn, the guy who voices Zeus in Disneys Hercules.

Poseidons entrance is always so epic. I loved that start “you challenge me mortal? A god of Olympus!”

This is my favorite God of War game. The scope of the action is unmatched. And the message: «Hope is what we fight with when everything else is lost» is powerful. This was the best looking game in 2010 and it blew me away.

It took me forever to find out the Omphalos Stone you get out of Cronos' stomach is the same stone he was tricked to eat instead of Zeus in the flashback in God of War 2

Kratos was just straight up EVIL in this one. Dude was literally willing to destroy his entire homeland and everyone in it just so he can fulfill his own selfish desire for revenge. Totally inexcusable...

As a celebration for 10 million players, Smite released a special skin for Hercules and hired the actor to do the voice lines Speaking of Smite, you guys should really do a reaction to their cinematic trailers and the god reveals. You would be pleasantly surprised and learn things about the game, gods and the pantheons. In the game there is a Mayan god called Cabrakan : Destroyer of Mountains. He's basically built like Hulk and on his arms has shields that he uses to Smash. He also has a skin in which he has the shields turned into smashed cars like Answer was talking about for the Hulk game. It was for sure a nod to that game.

That just symbolise he is not villain anymore.

Kratos finds Hope within himself to kill Zeus. From what i researched, it seems like Athena’s spirit was corrupted and explains why she was an a**hole in the end. Ngl…my jaw dropped when Kratos stabbed himself when i played. But it makes sense as he is releasing hope to the world directly, than giving it back to Athena. The after credits scene shows The blood of Kratos over the image of a Phoenix, symbolizing “reborn” i think.

In the end Kratos basically realized his mistake, that he was so blinded by rage and need for vengeance that he literally caused the destruction of the world, so he got tired of it all and decided to end it... but, as you can see... that was in vain, he could not die even if he tried to kill himself, hence the trail of blood leading away form his spot, he survived and crawled away.

@@Tysean I'd have to see something that indicates that concretely, but so far my understanding is that he did not know stabbing himself would release hope to everyone else (who are mostly just spirits now), he just did it to end it all - he was after vengeance but still felt just as empty afterwards as he did before, but now the world was destroyed too, so there was nothing in it for him.

@@Tysean Yes, but I don't think Kratos MEANT for the power to be released to the world, or knew that that's what would happen if he stabbed himself, I think it was literally a case of him being disappointed that vengeance still brought him no peace or relief and decided to end it all - he did not care if hope was going to be given to people or not, he wasn't being benevolent, it's not in character for Kratos, he simply wanted it to end. The fact that him trying to end himself also released hope to everyone else was just a side effect that Kratos didn't know or care about.

My only real problem with GOW3's story is that Kratos hyper fixates on opening Pandora's Box when he has a much easier alternative in just shoving Zeus into the Flame of Olympus itself since it's stated to kill even gods.

Y'all should watch the cutscenes for God of War: Ghost of Sparta and Chains of Olympus too since both show more of Kratos' backstory and give more reasonings for his hatred for the gods. Plus, a lot of it is mentioned in the 2018/2022 game

This is my first time checking out their gaming channel. Do they try to marathon whole games or do they space out play sessions a bit? Because if they plan on taking breaks they can watch the PSP games between the first two sessions for the 2018 game. They have all they need to get started and probably won't encounter any references to the PSP games in their first session.

Oak u talking bout the old arcade games made me so nostalgic. When I was a kid, we had a local donut shop w all the arcades. We walked there or rode our bikes every Saturday morning to eat donuts & play those games. So much fun, so many fun memories growing up in small southern town where it was not only safer to ride our bikes into town, but also neighbors always looked out for us local kids. Just a wonderful town of good ol fashioned folk that cared for one another. Thanks for reminding me of the good days of childhood! Can't wait to watch yall play the game! You guys are in for such a treat with GOW2018. The storytelling, writing, and the ACTING man... They are all just so next level in 2018 and Ragnarok. The gameplay os very different than everything you've seen in these 3 but still so satisfying and epic to play. So excited for you guys.

There's God of War Acension in an between prequel ( 2012). But you guys pretty much got the foundation.

If you guys are in a rush, you should definitely just watch one more, which is God of War: Ghost of Sparta. It gets mentioned in the future games and this one. When Zeus said "you should have chosen the other one" to Gaia, that's referencing Ghost of Sparta. I highly recommend it.

LODRY Gentlemen, I absolutely cannot wait for yall to experience 2018 and Ragnarok. Hearing that yall havent heard anything about these newer games makes me even more excited. parts one, two , and three are all u need for 2018 playthrough, the others are just if u are hungering for lore.

It would be criminal not to react to the ghost of sparta and chains of olympus especially the latter because of one of the worst QTE for me. LoL

I just started playing God of war 2018 for the first time because of your guys reactions. NO SPOILERS but a tip for when you play GOW18. You may not know since you’re only reacting to the cutscenes. GOW has puzzles you have to complete to open secrets or main path to continue the story. So take your time .Explore, look around and remember what the character (Kratos) can do.

To this day, I maintain that God of War 3 is the greatest action game of all time. The graphics, the gameplay, the sheer scope of the boss fights - nothing comes close.

Can't wait for the playthrough of 2018, guys!

Finally! I was waiting for this for years and years at this point, ever since you posted GoW2 lifetime ago! Nice.

My favorite game on the PS3!! This was insane the first time playing this. The opening was Oscar worthy. Posiden's beatdown was ruthless. The Hercules fight had me just in shock and awe. And knowing how God of War Ragnorak ends makes this ending even more effective.

Don't know if you fellas are aware of this but this version of Kratos and his first fight with Zeus are in MK 9.

I don't think you guys need to watch the prequels. You guys know enough to jump into God of War 2018.

Also when Kratos throws that first punch onto zeus at the Cliff and the black smoke came out - all the evils left him. That's when he returned to the man Zeus was before. My theory is at that point he realized what he had done and just let it happen out of shame and regret. He did not fight or talk back anymore. That almost makes it more tragic if you think about it...

A little advice that you might want to keep in mind before starting 2018: - be sure to explore the nooks and crannies throughout the game. in the beginning of the game (when exploring the forest) always go in the other direction from where the lil’ boy is going. there’s always a chest, bits of stories, or trinkets to be found, or even everything all together. you’ll need the things you found while exploring for later. - i recommend reading the journal/codex every now and then, it’s basically a bestiary but from the lil’ boy’s pov, the way he write is adorable so might want to give reading a chance every now and then. but i must add, you won’t be missing much if you didn’t. I still have a couple of things i wanna add but that’ll have to wait in future videos~ so excited for gow!

Man for about 5 minutes the 01:30:00 mark was just non stop insane stuff lol I played God of War 2018 but not this one so it was crazy to see this and your guys reactions :D

See now the reason why I told y'all to watch the PSP games as well is because of things like Helios saying "I have not forgotten the debt I owe you" :P In Chains of Olympus you learn of what that debt is for instance, or how in God of War II Atlas hates Kratos, and you learn why that is And there are other things like that in this game and especially 2018/Ragnarok that have links to the PSP games (as storywise they're simply part of the mainline canon) Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta are both pretty short since they were PSP games (it was a handheld PlayStation, roughly similar graphics to the PS2, slightly less) so you might think about doing them in one video God of War Ascension (PS3) isn't strictly necessary but is incredible as well (graphically on par with God of War III and has arguably even cooler sequences) and if you are going to do the PSP games you might as well do all of them, right? XD Chronologically Ascension is the "first" game, as it depicts Kratos' punishment after he killed his wife/child and renounced Ares, breaking his blood oath to the god. It doesn't add much in terms of story that you didn't already know so if you really wanna just get on with 2018, at least do the PSP games and skip it, but I still recommend it since it's just a banger of a game
