God of War 3 Challenge of Exile - Hades' Kids 2

Available on the God of War 3 Ultimate Edition and through PSN are an additional 7 challenges. Hades' Kids 2 requires you to get 5 Chimera to spawn.

Unlike the the Cyclops in the first Hades' Kids challenge, the Chimeras can't pushed off the edge and you must use the QTE to kill them, so this version of Hades' Kids is much more challenging.
As you're limited for time I found it best to use triangle, triangle, triangle on the Snake and Lion forms, using these attacks it's possible to defeat these forms fairly quickly (the snake form can be killed in under 10 seconds including the QTE with heavy attacks). The last form is where the fun begins, as they like to dodge and jump around like crazy making getting hits difficult. This is the biggest issue to completing the challenge in time. I found it took me about 60 seconds (including the QTE) to kill one Chimera and you have 4 1/2 minutes to kill four so you don't have a huge leeway to complete the challenge.
When they're are two Chimeras, it's important to spread out the damage as having three Snake Chimeras can make things awkward as they like spitting and grabbing you which can lose you a lot time. If possible try and get both of them to their last form around the same time before you finish one off.
With three Chimeras again try and spread out the damage, if you can get them to bunch together even better. One should already be fairly weak in it's last form, and you need to weaken the other two to make your life easier when you have four of these guys around.
For four Chimeras things get a bit tricky as the Snake forms have a few time draining attacks but if you've managed to weaken one or two them earlier you'll be in good shape to complete the challenge. Now you just need to focus all your attacks on one weakest Chimera, when he's in his last form you'll find having the three other Chimeras benefits you a little as it's more difficult for him to dodge around and avoid you.

Why's this shit always look easier on KZread?
Oh, you focus on only one chimera at a time...I ended up getting all 4 chimeras in 'lion mode' and things get crazy from there. Snake and lion are easy to kill, but the goat hops everywhere like a demented rabbit and is really tough to kill. It even seems that the other 'intact' chimeras are sort of 'protecting' their damaged companion...
If the goat part of the chimera didn't jump around and waste precious time, this shit could be done. I wanna throw my chair through my window. It's impossible impossible impossible impossible impossible. Fucking impossible. Fuck.
I couldn't believe it myself but when I finally beat this I had 23 seconds left over. About a million failed attempts and the first time I do it I pass "easily." I do have one tip I learned in my struggles that's not in this video.Instead of completely killing whichever chimera you zero in on, instead do this: Immediately after killing the 1st chimera completely, attack the next 2 both equally and reduce both to goat form. Then kill one, but *LEAVE the other goat form ALIVE* & instead attack one of the fresh chimeras that spawn. Once the fresh one is dead, only then go after the final goat. That way, you minimize the time you have to deal with 4 chimeras on screen at once. You can even weaken the goat you let live to make it easier to kill during the 4 on 1. I had perhaps the hardest time with this challenge (and Switchblade of course), so good luck.

I use a similar Chimera death management technique, but I leave it to the second round (3 chimeras) before I get tactical. I do this because it gives you more time to kill the final spawned chimera. The trick is to get 2 of the 3 chimeras near death then execute them both in quick succession. I use powerful airborne attacks a lot against the upright form. I also stay airborne as much as I can when you've got 4 chimeras on screen & attack using L1+Triangle. Snake Form = Heavy Attacks (Just mash triangle) Upright form = Airborne Attacks (L1+Square mainly) Goat Form = Quick Attacks (but big hits if you can sneak them in) That's my rule of thumb. The strategy is obviously more detailed, but how much advise can you give in a comment? This guy seems to have spawned through the challenge on pure luck.

@estring123 They normally only tend dodge in either clockwise or anti-clockwise fashion, once you can see which tendency they have for dodging you just need to anticipate where they're going.
Man, I still cannot do this one. I have been trying for the past hour and I just can't get it. It's the last one i need, too. Thanks for the help, I'm gonna' keep trying.
I believe you can use any weapon. I just happened to prefer using the Blades of Exile.
Question: Is there a trophy for beating the Challenges of Exile?
You can use blades of exile only? If not, I would have used the Nemean Cestus instead of u.
While Switch Blade drove me crazy, Childs of Hades 2 has to be the most difficult challenge of exile. I've been playing it ove 24 hours and I feel like its a matter of time. The damn qte are either slow or long and the time is unforgiving x(
this took me 1 to 2 hours. So frustrating and 1 controller went to heaven in the process xD

It took me 4 minutes and 25 seconds to complete it (you're given 4 and a half minutes to do the challenge).

wow, took me 8 months to beat this challenge! came close a couple times before, but ran out of time before the final kill animation ended and the next chimera spawned... finally got it the other day with not a second to spare

I had a slightly different method since concentrating on just one at a time you'll waste hits on additional snake forms without knowing which one has the most damage.... I killed the first.... got the next two to goat form, killed one.... got another one to goat form... by this time I had enough hits to kill both goats in quick succession... then work on one chimera out of the four and hopefully don't run out of time
There's no God of War fishes armour for the game. They're all much more fitting within the context of the game this time.
Only Kratos can survive 4 chimers at a time
@homerunhitter0987 I don't see how mixing Kratos strongest attack with dodges and blocks is "retarded". If I was simply standing still hitting triangle and not moving I might agree with you, but that isn't the case if you want to complete this challenge.
This made me rage quit. Ultimately. I stopped playing God of War for three weeks and then started again. When i beat this challenge i threw my control across the room and yelled "GOD" for about twenty minutes. This was fucking difficult.

This is like the one challenge in the game that I don't understand how they greenlit this shit. That was some good meth they were on. I'm sure I'll get it eventually. Been trying for a month now. GOW3 is probably my least favorite. A lot of stuff like this they just throw enemies at you even if they are designed to be fought a certain way. Glad I didn't play these as a kid. I probably would've quit gaming. Thinking about it rn. Edit: I just beat it as of this writing. Still don't know how they greenlit that shit. Only reason I won is because I fat fingered and grabbed the lion form that I was saving and got the second one trapped between the other 3 chimeras. 4:24 was my final time. Never again good lord lol.

Update: i beat it This challange is bullshit. I cannot complete this. Normally i would blame my skill but at the same time this is so irritating i have to turn off the game and walk away. I wanna finish up all the challanges before chaos mode and i cant. How did this get into the game? What sadistic programmer thought this was a fair challange? Its like im being trolled or something. No matter how i switch it up i get to 4 chimeras and either run out of time or get juggled back to back so i cant effing move. Great game, bullshit challange. Ok rant over. Just got into gow myself. The goat form is an asshole and his flame move stuns you for too long.
I hate this challenge...
the challenges are easy mostly because you don't lose so much health like playing on chaos so... the only trick is been a good player of GOW
