God loves your enemies | JONAH 4 BIBLE STUDY WITH ME (SOAP Method) | Kaci Nicole

Today we're coming to the end of our BIBLE STUDY WITH ME series going the book of JONAH! Most prophetic books focus on the words of the prophet, but this book is unique in that it is a story about the prophet Jonah himself. This story is sooo much more than a story about a man who gets swallowed up by a big fish, it's a story that craftily causes the reader to examine his or her own heart and ultimately, a story that masterfully reveals to us the character of God and points us to Jesus. In this Jonah 4 Bible Study With Me video, we'll come to the conclusion of Jonah's story where we come to understand God's intention in sending Jonah to the Ninevites...it wasn't just for the Ninevites, it was for Jonah too. God loved Jonah's enemies, and God loves YOUR enemy...and mine. Each person He allows us to cross paths with, He does for a purpose; and in Jonah chapter 4 we'll see why. Jonah 4 points us powerfully to the character of God. I can't wait to dig in with you - thank you so much for joining along for this Bible Study With Me series! 🤍

What stood out to me the whole time reading through Jonah was how many times he contradicted his knowledge of who God was. The character of God. Jonah knew he was full of mercy and compassion, yet his actions were different from that knowledge. Jonah was too worried about how much he disliked the people of Nineveh. 🙌🏻🐳🌟 I would love to see a Bible study of the book of Amos!!

Fun fact, the exact word that Jonah used "overturned" in the language that Jonah spoke at the time had a double meaning. Quite similar to when God's word tells us to die in ourselves. Not literally "die", but put away our old selves and turn to Jesus. However, back to Jonah, the word he used can also mean something along the lines of "repentance" or "to be remade", Thus Jonah's prophesy still came true, just not in the manner of which he intended for it, but rather God's. Now Jonah had already at this point been shown to be a false prophet of sorts in other books, but that's not today's lesson. I learned this from other videos that I wish I could remember where. I think it was The Bible Project, but I'm not sure.

My favourite part of this chapter is God's question, "Do you do well to be angry?" And I know this is a BIG ask, but would you consider to do a Bible study on Isaiah? I tried another KZreadr but it was hard for me to understand from them and much easier from you as you always give more context! Your channel is such a blessing to me 🤍

I needed this word sister. Please pray for me. Jesus, lift me out of my debts and provide me financial stability. As a single mother things are hard on me. I’m broken hearted. My husband passed years ago. I’m alone. Both of my sons are autistic and require so much from me. I’m constantly struggling to provide for them. Why me Lord. My life has always been a struggle from being abused as a child to not having a family like most folks. Father God hear my prayers. I’m ashamed as I constantly struggle to pay my bills and I constantly struggle to provide groceries for my sons. Please Jesus bless me with a job opportunity that allows me to provide abundantly for my children. I will keep faith even though I want to give up. Please hear my Father. ❤

Thank you a lot for this study! 🤍 As for the ricinus - another name for this plant is Palma Christi, which translates from Latin as "palm of Christ". It was given this name in Middle ages, and it has nothing to do with the story of Jonah. But I love how there is still a connection. Jonah could hide under "palm of Christ", but then the worm, sun and wind came, and he had no where to hide again. Because it was just a plant. But we have Christ, and we can always hide under His "Palma Christi" - and no worm nor wind nor heat will separate us from Him

You were an added benefit to my own deep dive into Jonah! The women at my church will be wrapping up the study, and your videos provided a few extra tidbits that my own commentaries and study bibles didn't provide! Thank you for your faithfulness to honor God's Word! It was a blessing and I'll be looking for more videos. I did a word study a month ago on hara (fret/upset) and pointing out how Jonah is hot with anger (hara), and then God makes him literally hot was an observation that I missed! So thank you for that connection!

I love the story of Jonah.. I feel like God's trying to let us know that he will help us even if we caused the mess we are in. We all know he forgives us but he also rescues us from ourselves and helps us make things new wether we screwed up a relationship, our finances, fell into sin etc by just doing the opposition what we knew to do and we can't even blame a person or the devil for where we are at I think if we are honest with God and are willing to listen for wisdom God will help us even when we get ourself into trouble.

✴️🌟⭐️ Great series! Chapter 4 reveals how we need to leave in God’s hands dealing with those that have wronged us; only God has the final word. But it also shows how our flesh competes with the Holy Spirit that lives in us. The apostles and prophets were flesh too and it’s important to remember not to emulate them as gods but rather stewards just as we are. Sanctification is daily for everyone. The Book of Titus would be awesome to look into. @kacinicole
