One common misconception is when people teach/preach hearing a "still small voice", which used to leave me in frustration when I didn't hear from God. Yes, God CAN speak to you audibly but biblically it is rare. A better phrase to teach/preach is "don't complain that God is silent if your Bible is closed", this is where God can reveal his word to you through the Holy Spirit who guides us.

“But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” ‭‭John‬ ‭14‬:‭26‬ ‭ If it any scripture or idea from it came to your mind, most definitely thats the Spirit talking to you. The inner voice, from what I experienced in my walk with Jesus, is kinda like a second person in my thoughts. It’s hard to describe, I’m not really sure but it has been guiding me properly.

@@warriorofthelord4142just depends on what people mean when they say “speak”. Many people mean they audibly hear Him, which I think can be problematic. Others use that wording but mean it figuratively, which I think is just an unclear communication of what they mean.

This is SO beautiful and SO needed. I think we so often get legalistic about prayer and about spending time with Jesus but I love how you say that we are just coming to rest in the arms of our Father. I just wanted to tell you how much I LOVE how animated and excited you are. I love that you tell the story with your whole body, and you're just so delightfully funny and relatable! It's good that we relate to our Father in this humanely way. He made us in His image, so says the Bible! That means He is more like us, and we are more like Him than we realize! God the Father has profound emotion; no one can tell me that He doesn't laugh and get excited with us! He gave us these wonderful emotions to worship Him with, so it's okay to make jokes, laugh, cry, squirm--- whatever! As you say, He just delights in us with abundant love and understanding.

This is helpful because often when I'm praying I'm actually speaking out loud to Lord. And I have a cat that is very "talkative" so he will come in whenever he's hearing my voice and he'll start meowing himself. This was such a beautiful analogy and I died every time you imitated the distracted squirming baby 😂 I guess in the same way, for those who also suffer from intrusive thoughts that can be blasphemous at times, maybe in the analogy the baby grew up and the father is smiling at his little kid on his lap but his kid has tourette's syndrome- where they can involuntarily blurt out cuss words and things that they don't mean. Maybe that's the way that God views our intrusive thoughts, He knows that we don't actually harbor real hatred towards Him and that we can't help it and hate having it too 😢 so He never gets angry or upset and just wants us to keep talking to Him because He understands and loves us anyway ❤

I have ADHD, so distractions is my life. I can't concentrate at all sometimes, but I do focus on things that would give my brain dopamine. Before I was born again, I believed myself to be a Christian and yet praying felt foreign and I got easily distracted. After having a real experience with God, then praying got a new meaning and my brain kinda rewired itself ---- and I don't get distracted during prayer as before. It almost doesn't happen anymore. Of course, I can't wait for the day I enter the gates of heaven and I'm finally healed from this illness.

In the dream, the first thing I noticed upon reaching Heaven ----- apart from the pure white robes I was wearing and the thousands of people around me ---- was a strange yet not harmful burn on my eyes. It literally felt like they were being fixed. I blinked many times, and suddenly, I could see perfectly, every detail of everything. For someone who needed glasses most of her life, that felt huge, and I smiled like never before. When I woke up from that dream, however, it was like my heart was ripped from my chest, and I missed a home I never met. Then, I cried and grieved. Can't wait to go home.

Yes, this is all very true, but I think it's best focused towards newer/younger believers. Once you are more mature in the life of Christ, the distractions could often be attacks (through the mind/emotions) from Satan whose goal is to detract from us having fellowship with the Lord. Yes, of course the Lord enjoys fellowship with us (and so should we), but believers can (and maybe should) also _exercise_ themselves in faith through the holy spirit to apply Christ's authority over the wandering mind. Just my experience in taking this a step beyond and spilling over into spiritual warfare

dear brothers in jesus, here some biblical passages to round your points up or to give a good focus :) well its good to go into the bible, Ecclesiastes 5:1 "let not your heart utter thoughtless words in front of God" so generally speaking, don´t be a fool to think to speak disrespectfully with/to god. what i developed in my faith is to evaluate things(everyday situations) in life, like stuff in social media with jesus. and to say, man i need to take my leave from there or there. 1 John 5,14 "This is the plainness/honesty/openness that we have towards him, that he hears us when we ask for something thats according to his will." to what you said, to be less stressed in prayer and be more open with jesus, yes and whats according to gods will? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- so whats his(god) will? Roman 14,17 "the kingdom of God is not build of eating and drinking, but righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit;" 1. John 3,22 "Whatever we ask we receive from him, because we keep his commandments and do what is pleasing in his sight." ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- so whats pleasing to him? Jeremiah 9,23 But whoever wants to take pride, let him be pride that he has understanding and knows me, that I am the Lord, who exercises mercy, judgment and righteousness on the earth. For in this I have found pleasure, says the Lord. micha 6,8 "It has been told to you, O human, what is good and what the Lord requires of you: what else but doing justice, practice love and walk humbly with your God?" justice, practice agape(gods love) love , be humble with god :) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ here is the answer when you talk like a fool with god :) James 4,3 "You ask and do not receive it, because you ask(pray) with evil intent, to waste it in your lusts." i hope the length of the comment is bearable, and i hope i could give some insight :) I wish your best and the guidens of jesus have a wonderfull day dear brothers PS: im a german man, so i translated german passages to english, if someone whats to give feedback or has a question im there, its welcome :)
