Jesus doesn't hate anyone and for you to put up a video like this saying God and Jesus hate the Detroit Lions is wrong and it is sinful and blasphemous. Noe I'm not perfect but man what you have done is wrong and I am not going to be watching anymore of your content.

As a Lions fan, the most brutally disappointing seasons for me have been 1992, 1996, and 2012. All three of those seasons featured a team that was coming off a playoff appearance and was returning most of its roster. They then proceeded to repeatedly screw up just enough to lose week after week after week. Each unit would take its turn letting the rest of the team down. One gut punch after another.

@@DolFan316 well, that entire decade was shrouded in darkness thanks to a certain GM whose name rhymed with "Fat Villain". I guess that season doesn't rank too high though, because even though they were not supposed to be that bad, there wasn't necessarily a lot of expectation on them, either.

This is very similar to what happened in 2002 with Mick McCarthy (the coach) & Roy Keane during the Irish national team's training camp on the tropical island of Saipan in preparation for the World Cup. Among the many things they disagreed on during this camp, one of them was the prayer circle the team did before every training session. Keane objected big time to taking part in this mainly because he wanted to lead the team in it but this role was taken by Shay Given the team's goalie even though Keane was the team's captain. Keane felt as though his role as team captain was being undermined by McCarthy because of this & unlike Herman Moore, interrupted the prayer circle. This enraged Given so much that he took a swing at Keane & a full on brawl broke out that lasted 10 minutes. After this Keane left the training camp but was persuaded to stay. However all hope of Keane remaining with the team went away when he did an interview with the Irish Times where he voiced his displeasure about the facilities in Saipan as well as the prayer circle incident. This resulted in McCarthy confronting Keane in front of the entire team & the two of them almost coming to blows. Keane left the training camp for good after this & vowed never to play for his country again. Despite this drama, Ireland somehow managed to make the Round of 16 at the World Cup, losing to Spain in penalty kicks. As for Keane, he would end playing for his country a few more times in 2004 (after a change in coach) before ending his international career.

Porcher??? I hardly know her! 😮 But serously, I've got to give Moore credit for apparently being able to hang with a dude who outweighed him by almost 60 pounds in a fight for several minutes and escaping unscathed.

The Lions teams of these years were so good. You're reminding me of why I feel in love with this team. I'm so glad you mentioned Herman Moore. Outside of Detroit, I don't know if people really know how good he was. '96 was a year that made no sense. They had all the talent in the world. The wheels fell off Scott Mitchell and that ruined what should have been a team should have contended.

The Lions in 1993-1995 were good, but not elite. They lost in the first round each of those years.

The title of this really hurts.

It sucks to hear about 2 Lions legends getting into it like that. Everyone in Pontiac, Mich. had to be frustrated by then. Wayne Fontes was already on shaky ground by that point, so he didn't wanna have to deal with that mess.

If a God any God plays a role in the fortunes of the Lions I don’t think it’s because he/she /it/hates the franchise it’s because he/she/it loves Bobby Layne. I enjoy these deep dives into weird and little known tales and because I saw former Packer Travis Jervey in this clip it reminded me of a couple of crazy incidents involving him that might make for an interesting video. During Jerveys rookie year he roomed with Leshon Johnson both while traveling and in Green Bay and were young stupid and had pockets bursting with cash in the smallest and most boring city in the world to host a pro team and just a couple of weeks after Jervey poured gas on kindling in his INDOOR fireplace briefly setting himself on fire he and Johnson made a purchase that the moment Mike Holmgren found out about it he summoned them to his office to tell them them they had to cancel their purchase of a declawed Lion from a Texas wildfire dealer. If you’re wondering what a Lion sold for in 1996 it was $1000 which I think with Bidenomics related adjustment that’s just under a $1 million dollars in 2024 money

Of course God hates the Lions. Look at all the Christians they ate!

Sorry but if your team EVER won a Superbowl, you don't get to complain. At this point I would say the Bengals, Bills, Vikings, Lions, Cardinals, and Browns have the most reasons to be bitter.

This unofficial Official Jaguar Gator 9 historian will remind everyone you made a video about the “rivalry” between the Bills and God. I thought this would be a similar video with the Lions or their fans blaming God for their loss. I think when it comes to blaming mystical forces for losing the 1996 Lions should stay in their Layne.

I admit the Lions have been disappointing for years, but it looks like the team is finally starting to peak with Dan Campbell and Brad Holmes at the helm

If you think your team is cursed, you just need to accept that they’re not good. NFL is all about coach and QB. KC can’t win a playoff game in nearly 3 decades and all the sudden with Mahomes and Reid, they’re a dynasty. Remove just those two components and they’re a six win team at best

@@runrafarunthebestintheworldThat’s true, they were good enough to make the playoffs somewhat regularly, not really any crazy long playoff droughts. They at least had some stability with Alex Smith as QB but of course Patrick Mahomes took them to that next level.

Theres no such thing as "God". Detroit is genuinely terrible. Dont expect them to have a year like this last season. Teams are going to be more aware of what they can do, and the "surprise" element wont be there. GOOD LUCK WITH THAT.
