What kind of string do you recommend for lifts? We use nylon but are thinking about switching to 0.4 kevlar line

You can, but it is best to mechanically link them somehow (with belt or chain)
is there a part list for the blue alliance claw mechanism?

I don't think they could even if they wanted to; if I remember right COTS grabbers aren't allowed.
