Amazing Gleta, I know the whole family and it brought back old memories watching the video, how our people from Marna used to work at the bakery n come home for the weekends. ( Jaxinachi Bakery) Great Gleta! You kept the family Business going. In my childhhood days we enjoyed the plum cake n toast and patties from the bakery. The rates r very reasonable specially in this Pandemic times. i will surely visit you and the Bakery to revive my old memories. God Bless u, and the guy who made this video. Thanks Bro for the video. The mythical story of how bebinca came to be: "These stories and a prominent historian Fatima da Silva Gracias’ book, Cozinha de Goa: History and Tradition of Goan Food, states that one of these nuns from Santa Monica Convent was called Bebiana. She invented a seven-layered pudding using leftover yolks to symbolise the seven hills of the old city of Goa and Lisbon. This pudding was then sent to the priests, possibly those living in the Convent of St Augustine-the Order to which Santa Monica belonged-who although impressed, pointed out that seven layers weren’t enough for them. They advised Bebiana to increase the dessert’s size to accommodate at least a dozen layers. Today, this pudding is known as Bebinca in her honour and boasts from 7 to as many as 16 layers"

As a child my mom and me used to always go to this bakery to by cream cones which was my favourite ( my fav afternoon snack after school) this bakery was so close to my school. Wine biscuits was one of my fav too. Memories to treasure forever 🥰 Thanks Moses for this lovely video.

Hey Moses visited this bakery and what a fabulous place- it’s a must visit for everyone to really get a feel of the Goan/ Portugal vibe. The pastries, lemon tarts, sandwiches etc were really good. We also had dinner at the Raddish on the Baga creek and the food and ambiance was great. Thanks for recommending these awesome places. Keep sharing your great videos. FYI the crabs at Azzura are really worth trying ( condoling beach road) and they have waffles too which are delicious. A must try- we had the double dark chocolate😋 Moses we plan to drive down to south goa this evening- please suggest some nice places for food and views- for a relaxed evening. Cheers

1930 is over 9 decades old now ! Their grand-daughter had a bit slip of her tongue in saying 3 decades. She is so very lucky to not only inherit such a nice, quaint store but also a slice of history right back to the time when it all started under Portuguese colonial rule. Long live this cafe and hats off to Moses for his beautiful travel vlogs on Goa. Keep it up Moses bab.! 👍👌

A great experience to walk down the lanes of the Fontainhas in the Latin Quarter or Portuguese Quarter of Panjim and visited this quaint café Confeitaria 31 de Janeiro in the 5th of August this year. Had two strong coffees, the date and walnut cake (super) and the swiss roll. This little 11 or 12 years old girl served my daughter, son in law and me. My two months old grandson was fast asleep. This girl, hospitality comes naturally to her. She offered to get us an extra chair without us asking and didn't allow us to clear our table or help her. I saw Glenda as in the above video. I told her we saw the video of the cafe. She smiled shyly and went inside. Snacks were good and so lowly priced. The coffee was hot, strong and good, just as I liked it. I will come back again and explore these streets as I would have liked to stay longer.

Haven't been to this fantastic place as yet . Quiet ,narrow ,clean lane with a quaint little cafe situated inside which serves excellent stuff at affordable prices --- what more can one ask for ? This will certainly be a priority on my next visit. I have eaten Bebinca a few times earlier but not Pinag --- need to try it. Cheese straw and Khari is available everywhere so I have to go after the other items like Wine cookies ( sounds great) Sausage Rissole ( is that what you showed ?) Shrewsbury biscuits etc . The Date and Walnut cake looked delicious laden with dates !! Another enjoyable video ...loved it👌👌👌👏👏👏👍👍👍

Wine cookies also are rarely available in Goa, something which will go really well with a glass of wine. The sausage Rissois also another rare find and gets over before 12 the date and walnut cake is so rich dense and full of flavour. I've been getting it from there for last 20 years

This is very good Goan bakery we used to buy our cakes fir Christmas n we were in hostel in Lar we used get here.Also they had a relative coming from Pakistan who was siting next to me on flight spoke in urdu asked me to reach him at 31st Janerio. I did n than went caranzalem my aunt house .Pls visit the bakery.Enjoy
