    Jean-Pierre Rupp There are tons of athletic scholarships in the US. Especially for football where many get full ride scholarships because they can’t get a paycheck for their work and sports brings in money for universities. There are also many scholarships for academic performance and financial need.

  • @stanleyqc2244

    @stanleyqc2244

    @Jean-Pierre Rupp The university needs good players for their teams, so they opt for giving free education to athletes (which doesn't cost them what you usually pay for it ) so that they would come and play for them. It's common practice in North America - *sports* scholarships exist in Canada as well. A friend of mine was playing for the football team and had all of his stuff paid for by the uni. In turn, he had to keep up with the training and play well for the home team. There are other scholarships as well: for science, engineering, etc. It's just that the criteria are different (intelligence and a lack of resources as you said for example).

For some they just say “oh I’m trans” yet they don’t even change there body. Some trans do on the other hand. A hard working woman dosen’t deserve that. ❤️ However a REAL transgender dosen’t deserve to be hated for it ether because some trans wanted to experience themselves rather it be sports or anything that they enjoy. However people like this just....just suck. A Fake transgender (as a adult) didn’t even bother having some kind of medication or actually look like a woman -_-

    Hey ! I hope you're not having a dig at Lia Thomas there? She's an inspiration to all young girls, and has shown them that if you try hard enough you can be the best............ As long as you were originally born with a penis. 🤔 Personally I think the current success of trans athletes has really put a cat amongst the pigeons in this new woken society. Many women's groups are still trotting out the narrative that anything a man can do, a woman is just as capable of doing, but some have swung 180 and are now starting to publicly complain that trans women have an unfair advantage in sports, which would kind of suggest that they're saying that biological men ARE significantly better at physical activitys than women. These are mutually exclusive stand points, so will this result with infighting within women's groups? And will this cause a schism/fragmenting of these organisations, weakening their positions? Who knows, but I do know that it's going to get messy, and most of the people on both sides are going to come out of it feeling upset and hard done by.

    @Donald J. Trump I agree, except for when you said testosterone increases aggression in men. That's not just been proven wrong, it's been proven to be the opposite. Testosterone increases productivity in men, and makes them more energetic, but that does not equate to violence. It actually stimulates calmth and confidence, which keeps us from going violent. The aggression comes from repression. We live in a society where men aren't allowed to be men. We can't grunt or scream when exhilarated, we can't play fight as kids without being ostracised the way boys have always done, even the environment screws us over. For instance, if I get pissed at the gym, I put that extra boost of adrenaline and pride to use by picking up a weight I know I couldn't normally press, or going an extra 30 seconds at the heavy bag. But what if I'm in an office? I can't do that. I have to shut my mouth and sit quietly. That level of self suppression is dangerous. It's backwards to nature, and it's why people in those kinds of jobs make up the vast majority of random murders. And even then, men's crimes are overblown. Women actually commit far more domestic abuse for instance, but more than half of all charged women do not get sentenced. Meanwhile, an estimated 30%+ of male prisoners today are innocent, so go figure. I'd say women's crimes are close to being as high as men's are in reality (women harm children three times as much as men do for instance) and this is still not accounting for the fact that that's only because manhood is being deleted from society. Were men allowed to be men, you'd see such a drastic decrease in crime you wouldn't even believe it. Edit: Typo

    @aidsbrigade This is so true, and too many people are blinded by loyalty and obsessed with being on a 'side' just because their family has for decades or whatever (same in UK, to lesser extent). Policy details or fact gets pretty much lost in among the hurling of baseless insults at towards the other side. Unconditional support for two opposing parties is never a good road in democracy, as it in effect rewards inadequacy. The risk of a party or party leader being abysmal shouldn't be coming 2nd in an election, it should be almost being put out of business and allowing another party to shine through the pack. It's about time the tribalistic two party system took a rough hike all the way back to the 19th Century.

  • @blackjetski555

    @blackjetski555

    4 жыл бұрын

    @aidsbrigade That's a good point about not having to agree with every policy a party puts forward. Many people even just have one policy that connects with them more than the rest (electoral reform in my case), and that's just as fine. But as you say, the ridiculous conflation applied to all is there by almost default. The most extreme on one side attribute every opposition voter into the extreme on the other, and vice versa. And it renders political debate unplayable for the most part. And about your second comment, in an election the two party system always boils down to 'well, at least they're better than the opposition.' So sadly it doesn't matter what Trump or Biden say or do from here on in for a lot of people; they'll still vote for them. Here in the UK, we had Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn. To say they're two useless out-of-touch clowns would be the understatement of the century. Yet 75% of the electorate thought them to be the fittest two people to run the country because, well... tradition! Insanity everywhere.

    @@MrMan-ge7wy CFA - other small regional leagues. This was also 5-6 years ago. Fallon stopped competing in 2014. The reality is Fallon Fox wasn't never in the UFC because she was never good enough for it even to be a conversation. She beat cans, Tamrikka the one that ended up with orbital bone break, has a pro record of 2-4 (2 wins 4 loses). The one she beat before that, Allana Jones, was 2/8. She fought 1 UFC level contender, someone who is in the UFC Now, Ashlee Evans Smith. And Ashlee KO'd her, she dominated Fallon all fight. And Ashlee isn't even very good, she's lost 3 of her last 4 fights in the UFC. I don't have all the answers in the whole trans-sports thing, but I think there is this narrative that, a man shaved his chest, said he was female and started brutalizing women, the reality was, they never beat anyone even half way decent. A male pro mma fighter, even one unranked, could likely easily beat any of the top 10 UFC female MMA fighters of the same weight.
