If you dont mind me asking, what goes into making this? Do you just type in a prompt, do you compose anything yourself and use AI to finish it? Do you write the lyrics? What goes into making on of these AI generated songs.

We use a variety of methods to make our songs. Our main method is to find a good hook / base for a song then expand on it with AI tools. We generally generate the song in 5-30 second clips, curating, cutting, and editing the best sounding segments to construct the best song we can. We write our own lyrics, but we do use AI to help writing when we get stuck on a song. We then use a DAW along with AI tools such as Replay to clean up vocals, stem and clean up instrumentals, add samples, dub sections, and put the finishing touches on a song.

I’m very against the idea of ai generated art or music, but seeing that you clearly put some work into making it your own rather than just typing a prompt in and using that using that makes me a bit more optimistic about AI tools being used in a more positive way. I will still go out of my way to find music written and recorded entirely by humans, but it’s nice to know that you put some thought into making your music.

@@bouncycow3010 That's an extremely reasonable take, and honestly, it's not far off from how we feel. Each song we make represents 3-10 hours of work, but that's nowhere near the dedication and effort a true band puts into their music. We see our creations as more like snacks, while fully human-made music is a nourishing meal. Our hope is that our songs can guide people towards discovering human-made music they might not have heard otherwise, while showing existing artists what's currently possible with the technology. That would be the optimal outcome.
