As for hotels in iloilo city i prefer days inn, it on top floor of the mall and very clean with dual king size beds with a/c and has room service and security and bell boys. And on bottom floor is a great grocery store and there great restraunts in this building. Not far from robinsons mall it walking distance. Also it is same price as days inn in usa. Maybe few $ cheaper per night. Has elevator with elevator boy. Taxis drive through in front for fast cab service. Hospital within eye veiw if needed. Alot of security guards .

GT hotel would have been the winner for me, Rod... 1st thing, and we have discussed this before, they had a hot water kettle, none at GO.. Second thing, Free breakfast, and the resto was big, and appeared clean... Just an observation, in quite a few of your videos, and I know this issue was in your career chain, is your adversity to any noise.. I guess it is not a hot topic for me, but I don't think I have ever been in a hotel where the noise bothered me.. I guess I just sleep through it all... To each his own, huh!!! Thanks for the video, Rod.. Have a Merry Christmas...

  • @AmazingPhilippines1

I just bought a google Fi system Motorola phone Richard. It works in over 200 countries with texts free and phone calls back to the USA about .20/minute unless you use a VPN and log into the USA, then phone calls should be free. Google has agreements with companies in the other countries. It cost me $20/month + $10 for each 1 gig of data but I am always on wifi so don't use phone data. Yes, if you have GSM system phone it will work here. You can keep you US phone number as long as you pay your US phone bill. If it is ulocked you can put a PH sim in it also.

Rates vary by the day and the demand so you need to put your travel dates into a booking site to check rates for those days. I paid about 1300 pesos/night.

When you get to the airport, in most cases there are hotel shuttles to take you to the hotel of your choice. There are signs that list the room rates and photos of the rooms. I would be comfortable telling a tourist who has never been to Iloilo to follow those instructions. It's been a few years since I was there, so I stayed on the main drag at Manfreds Hotel, and the Amigo Terrace. In those few years I'm sure one hotel is like another, which you can see for yourself. I guess it's the naivete of you bloggers that I find sickening.

That is interesting Robert. I don't recall seeing any signs in the several terminals I have been in, ferry and bus, but sometimes in airports. Hotel prices tend to change daily and drastically depending on demand so listed prices are often much higher than you can find online booking sites. If one has cash to burn then it is ok to pay the listed rate but there is often a big discount by searching online. Safe travels.
