GO HOTELS & GT HOTEL, ILOILO CITY, PANAY, PHILIPPINES
GO Hotels is owned by Robinson's and is connected to the Robinson's Mall in Iloilo City, the Philippines. It is in the city proper and close to the ferry terminals. There is also an SM Mall and Public Market nearby.

Thanks Brian. Enjoy your trip. The city proper in an interesting older part of Iloilo City and not that far from the other newer malls like SM and the MegaWorld area.

They were nice hotels. When the wifi worked it worked well but no signal in the 1st 2 rooms most of the time.
Nice rooms Rod. There's a hotel similar to Go hotel next to Robinson's mall in Bacolod. My friend told me the hotel is owned by the mall.

As for hotels in iloilo city i prefer days inn, it on top floor of the mall and very clean with dual king size beds with a/c and has room service and security and bell boys. And on bottom floor is a great grocery store and there great restraunts in this building. Not far from robinsons mall it walking distance. Also it is same price as days inn in usa. Maybe few $ cheaper per night. Has elevator with elevator boy. Taxis drive through in front for fast cab service. Hospital within eye veiw if needed. Alot of security guards .
Amazing Philippines, did you know you sound like an AI? It’s actually good for the vlogging you make.

I'm glad you had a mostly pleasant stay. You may have said so, but did either hotel have good WiFi?

The wifi was "no signal" in the first room, poor in the 2nd room, and worked well when it worked.
GT hotel would have been the winner for me, Rod... 1st thing, and we have discussed this before, they had a hot water kettle, none at GO.. Second thing, Free breakfast, and the resto was big, and appeared clean... Just an observation, in quite a few of your videos, and I know this issue was in your career chain, is your adversity to any noise.. I guess it is not a hot topic for me, but I don't think I have ever been in a hotel where the noise bothered me.. I guess I just sleep through it all... To each his own, huh!!! Thanks for the video, Rod.. Have a Merry Christmas...

Thanks Bruce. The hot water kettle is pretty important for me also. That king bed was the most comfortable of my stays.
rod i have noticed the go hotels , they look very much like red planet and hop chain , im ok with that clean and basic at a very low price

Another great video..what fone company is your fone from the USA going to be using? If I bring my unlocked fone from USA can I keep my same fone number in the filipines? Thanks
@AmazingPhilippines1

I just bought a google Fi system Motorola phone Richard. It works in over 200 countries with texts free and phone calls back to the USA about .20/minute unless you use a VPN and log into the USA, then phone calls should be free. Google has agreements with companies in the other countries. It cost me $20/month + $10 for each 1 gig of data but I am always on wifi so don't use phone data. Yes, if you have GSM system phone it will work here. You can keep you US phone number as long as you pay your US phone bill. If it is ulocked you can put a PH sim in it also.

Rates vary by the day and the demand so you need to put your travel dates into a booking site to check rates for those days. I paid about 1300 pesos/night.
I will be staying in the China Imperial I think it's called well I come down to Iloilo city at the end of March

Thanks Jay. I used Magic Jack for a while but not have a US phone with the US google number I have had for many years so it is working the best for me and the phone will work in over 200 countries. Google Fi system.
When you get to the airport, in most cases there are hotel shuttles to take you to the hotel of your choice. There are signs that list the room rates and photos of the rooms. I would be comfortable telling a tourist who has never been to Iloilo to follow those instructions. It's been a few years since I was there, so I stayed on the main drag at Manfreds Hotel, and the Amigo Terrace. In those few years I'm sure one hotel is like another, which you can see for yourself. I guess it's the naivete of you bloggers that I find sickening.

That is interesting Robert. I don't recall seeing any signs in the several terminals I have been in, ferry and bus, but sometimes in airports. Hotel prices tend to change daily and drastically depending on demand so listed prices are often much higher than you can find online booking sites. If one has cash to burn then it is ok to pay the listed rate but there is often a big discount by searching online. Safe travels.
Do we really need someone to tell us that the hotel rooms in Iloilo are like hotel rooms anywhere else?

@rude Robert , if you find no value in the videos, I suggest that you don’t bother to watch them, thus avoiding the need to post unnecessary and sarcastic comments. Many people enjoy and benefit from the information offered.
