Is Thor being childish, though? They just used time travel to get the stones, they can do pretty much ANYTHING with all the stones, and Banner's whole "alternate timeline" thing was proven completely wrong when the alternate Gamora continued to exist in the main timeline. So really, just within the movie's own logic, there's no reason they can't save Black Widow.

@@0megacron well, apart from Thor everybody accepted the consequences that's bcoz there was no case of alternate reality as explained by Hulk earlier, alternate reality or branched timeline would be if they brought Nat of previous years or in any way interfered too much with the past. And there is no conclusive theory as to what happened with Gamora which came from past, some theories suggest she went back in the past,i believe we'll know more about it in Guardians of the galaxy 3

Thor’s point of view: You might notice Thor's reaction is quite different from the others when they're by the lake. He seems annoyed that they're mourning her when they have the Stones, believing they can bring her back. This denial is sad enough on it's own. But when you look deeper, *it might mean* that Thor was holding on to some hope that he could also bring back Loki, Heimdall, and the Asgardians that Thanos murdered on the Statesman with the Stones as well. This brings his despair into even more context as at the beginning of the film he realized that he was not getting back what Thanos took from him, and when he found out that the Stones make a distinction between "death by Snap" and "natural death", *he had to realize that all over again.* This must have been a serious gut punch for Thor who just had his spirits raised.

They had the time and the ability to just go back a little and grab an earlier version of Nat and unite the team. They chose not to.

I love that the always calm and reserved spy/assassin is the one to break down and lash out while the rage monster is the one to rein it all in and offer closure and the truth of finality of the situation. Nat deserved better. She deserved a movie that took place in chronological order when she was relevant. She deserved a movie that made sense, that was well written, that showed her true heroism. She got none of that. Yet her death is possibly the most powerful Super Hero sacrifice I have ever seen before Tony's final "I am Iron Man".

But beyond all that she has a heart of gold and the spirit of a warrior matched by equally steely determination to see through whatever mission she's assigned. Kate Bishop certainly thinks that. Him leaping off a building during the battle of New York, despite not being a god, encased in flying armor, or enhanced by other means, inspired her to become a hero.

I love this scene - it really humanizes these heroes. With all their strength and power - they cannot change this outcome and they are gutted. ESPECIALLY- Jeremy’s character. The guilt and anger he feels - there may even be those feelings of shame, something that somehow makes the connection more real to me

Thanos was the reason why she died for that stone. Should have seen that played out in a rematch between Hulk and thanos. Last time they fought Hulk was just am angry big boy. Now he's got all this rage combined with grief and the stakes at hand especially the love of his life who gave her life up for that stone to make it work, and Banner/Hulk will perhaps through that gain a newfound strength and go world war Hulk on thanos. But no, Russo brothers had to ruin it. They totally ruined Hulk. F*ck them idiots. They glorified captain America and made Hulk a b*tch boy. What's wrong with them? A rematch is so warranted for Hulk between him and thanos. I wanna see that play out and don't tell me he will lose again, I have read the comics , he's definitely got thanos beat at least 2 out of 10 times. This rematch can be one of the 2 out of 10 times he wins.

No, Clint was being talked down to by an immortal god who was supposed to completing his mission but spent the entire time talking to his Mother while Rocket did all of the work. Thor even brought back a stolen Mjolnir while Nat was dying to complete her mission. That's why Hawkeye said "Hammer" and not "Axe". He knows that Thor was fucking off while Nat was dying.
