    I just finished playing The Last of us 2 and seeing Joel made me cry instantly. Heck, seeing Arthur in the first 4 seconds made me cry. It's not just them. The journey is so impactful, the storytelling. I love video games so much. I love them all. I miss the days when Ellie and he was traveling and petting giraffes. And the day's Lee was helping put up a fence while some farmers crossed their paths and offered them gas. And the days when I was wildly running around while kidnapping people and getting enormous unnecessary bounties with Arthur. God, even Saints Row 2... All the days, every second I played a game so impactful, it was one of the most beautiful things created. Keep it up with the stories, and the memories. I hope every game creator ever sees this. • @morganrunnels9113
    @morganrunnels91132 жыл бұрын

    Video Games are, on a technical standpoint, nothing more than a bunch of 1s and 0s. It's when you look above said viewpoint that you begin to see the real deal of them. Video games become our escape from a cold, harsh reality. A place where we can slay dragons, save people, and become an unkillable soldier in the midst of a world war. However, video games also become so much more than that. We connect with the characters in the story, they become, in a way, our friends and brothers. Seeing one die, IMO, can be akin to seeing a friend die IRL. Heartbreaking, gutwrenching, and just overall saddening. It's with this connection that video games can truly shine through. One of my biggest relationships with a character in a video game was Captain John "Soap" Mactavish from Call of Duty. Growing up and being that carefree 7 year old playing MW2, I viewed Soap as a complete badass. I wanted to be him, hair style and all. The deaths of Ghost and Roach were a bit jarring, but Soap almost dying was a real punch in the face. Come MW3, and I an leaping with joy to see that he is alive.... until Blood Brothers. I shit you not, I stayed in my room for a solid day, crying and just being depressed because of Soap's death. Which is why the ending to MW3 was that much more enjoyable. Getting the revenge against Makarov, and seeing Price finally relax for the first time in years. It's experiences like this one that make video games TRULY one of the greatest inventions mankind has ever devised.

Whether you like this second part or not, it cannot be denied that the scenes of Ellie's memories with Joel, added to everything lived in the first part, reach your gamer heart.

    Video games are a way to escape, but they always end like this… with tears. “It’s enough to make a grown man cry”. These creations of prophecies are so realistic, they create a thick link between us and the 1’s and 0’s on the screen. Goodbye, tributes. And it’s never.. just a game

    these are not just games, they are movies and they are also a life that makes you feel feelings, feel inside that world/universe making you part of the story is very beautiful I already cried,happy and got angry in some games these games are not just video games and yes they are pure realism / and pure reality I've never seen games that make you think about life and take something you learned from him with you to be part of your life and identify with it.. these games make you show several feelings that you didn't even know you had. And this is pretty impressive, who else thinks? like and see ya! 🥰🤔🥺😭😔👏

    It was never just a game. It was a book. A Book wrote by us the players and the game developers. A BOOK THAT STORES ALL OUR FEELINGS, PAIN, HAPPINESS, SADDNESS, LOVE, EVERYTHING IN THESE GAMES! Some may not see that, but we do. We the players do. We the writers do. We all know what it truly is.

    It's not JUST a video game its who we are in our hearts, it's who we are on the inside, its who we look up to and want to be, and people dont understand that which is why when someone says "its just a video game" they have no idea what they are talking about, when telling a gamer "its just a video game" its like telling someone whos dog just died "its just a dog" nothing is ever just something because to someone it everything and especially gamers that use games to cope with anxiety, depression, etc. it is definetly not just a game its their litteral happiness, i have depression and social anxiety and the second my computer was taken away from me i didnt know what to do or where to go from there i tried everything to keep me happy but nothing worked but, no one understands because they dont suffer like i do so when i try to tell them i'm sad i'm depressed they tell me to suck it up and deal with it im a man, but really millions suffer from the same things i do and cope in the same way and get told the same things and being told that makes it worse. this is why you should NEVER say something is JUST something because nothing is JUST something Everything means something to someone in a strong way. SHARE THIS WITH YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY.

    What's sad is that Tell Tale games is closed forever. Which for me, was pretty sad to figure out, as the only reason I really felt sad for the flashback to Lee was because of how much playing as him meant to me, to choose what character he was like, and see how he manages to pull through, to see the janky deaths was also hilarious but, to have the main character die in a game when you've grown so attached to them is (at least for me) terribly depressing.

    i made witcher 3 last over 300 hrs the second time around... after seeing this i roleplayed Geralt to the point where i got the chills, where i had tears streamiing down my cheeks when ciri is in my arms then awakens and hugs me back, when yen was talking to ciri's little flirt boy (while he is dead and crying in pain) and i was crying in pain... i bought a ps4 simply 'cause of your video of the last of us... i have learned to let go and immerse myself so deeply, that i feel the pain of my ather wordly avatars... when Vesemir says "you always were a little she devil, i always admired that." i screamed before the snap of his neck... and in my head i heard this song.... thank you for letting me know that i am not the only one who thrives on those things that matter sooo much only after a character arc, with amazing character development... i mean Ciri was my WARD, sarah died in my arms, i talked with my higher vampire and best friend about what i would do had i not been to kaer morhen... i love you or whoever edited and designed these vidoes... gaming, better than books,movies,playing music (i am a pro musician).... i now know i am not utterly alone out here now.... you are with me. and you dont even know it... but if you need a hug...

    I recently finished playing TLOU 1 and 2 for the first time. I'm in shambles right now... I was alright watching this video to the point of the basement scene and now I'm in fycking tears. TLOU 2 ruined gaming for me, I can't play any other game anymore nor can I bring myself to pick up the controller whatsoever. I wish ND gave antidepressants as part of the package for completing TLOU 2. There are many sad games and parts of games that I've played, but TLOU series is on a whole different level. What a tear jerker of a video, seriously.

    Videos like this exemplify why I play games, why I play the single player campaigns, why I will always say story is better than fancy graphics and gimmicky mechanics, why I prefer a good campaign over good multiplayer. And above all else, this is why I made my channel, to show these stories to everyone I can, so they may too catch a glimpse of what gaming can do to tell a truly emotional and amazing story

    It's funny in a way (and I'll apologize now this might be a long comment) is it just a game? For some it's not just the sad moments and fun time playing. For me there was a personal memory attached to some of these games and then seeing those scenes in videos like this it kinda hits hard, and forgive me going semi off topic but a personal experience I had while playing... I bought Yakuza Kiwami about I think five years back and had fun playing it my grandmother who didn't like video games at all was in failing health and... She died, on the day I got the news i was informed that they held the funeral and i wasn't included in the invitations. That same day i beat Yakuza kiwami and the song in the credits just broke me... The song was "Amazing grace" now I'm not a "godly" person but my grandmother loved that song she'd sing it through the house when i was younger and apparently my family who was there when she passed sang it to her as well so I guess hearing it and also the end of the game itself hit me hard... Anyway it's things like that, that mark a game so that no matter what sad or wholesome scene you see memories like that still feel fresh in the mind, especially when put in videos like this.
