I'm watching your CR videos now because I started getting more correct answers after I watched your SC and RC videos. Wow Sir! I am new to your channel and I was blown away with how much I enjoyed tuning into this video, clearly well after it was posted, but timely for me as I study to take my first GMAT. I really loved the clear way you taught to approach the critical reasoning with developing the conclusion etc. I think I struggled a bit with the first few questions as I tried to follow along with a notebook and the questions on a separate screen, but by the end of the video I found myself performing better thanks to your guidance. I am excited to keep practicing with a new mindset now on critical reasoning. You came as highly recommended by Rare Liquid Careers youtube channel who I have been following, so I am now subscribed to you as well, and excited about future videos! Thanks, Brian

L. Swetha Swetha i bought magoosh premium and all the gmac mocks available. Went through manhattan verbal book as well. At one point i was stuck at Q45/46, then I used TTP and it helped me get to Q50. I Used all other platforms too but only for their free mocks. Started prep in mid Feb, 1st attempt on 2nd July, 2nd attempt (online) on 14th july

A lot of help in this video. For me the most useful is that I have reduced the average time in CR from 2´30´´to 2´ just eliminating notetaking. I focus harder in the conclusion and the why (thinking structurally). Thanks for the video. I am looking for video explanation to reduce time in the Quant part. Let me know if you know something.

In the first question I feel answer should be 'B' since it says that post 1930 hotels are more spacious than older ones, which may imply that, older carpenters lacked the skill to build bigger structures, though their structures were more durable. So older carpenters were not necessarily more skilled. But Im not sure.

Critical point noted : Assumption comes before the conclusion. (Negation technique can reinforce the solution though).

False. Assumptions do not have to come before the conclusion.

I got 2/5 and I'm pretty disappointed. :( I'm currently studying CR on TTP and I'm doing ok over there. I think I need to study harder this part. Thanks for the video

the bone question: D makes more sense than E. What if those tools were carried by water flow to the sediments later?

Extra assumption that the water flow carried the tools. Depends on the "what if"

Did you guys have trouble opening that link with questions attached?

In the Hominid question answer choice, E suggest that hominid used to eat meat by cutting it, doesn't necessarily mean that they were specifically using the fire to cook the meat, how is that relevant? They might be eating raw meat just by cutting it?

Hi Charles / GMATClub Aren't reading precisely and thinking "structurally" two contradicting ideas? Reading precisely needs us to focus on tiny bit details and thinking structurally requires us to zoom out from details and focus on the general idea. Could you please clarify this?

My recommendation is if possible, to avoid going back and forth since that gets tiring and takes more time. -bb

I have a doubt. For the 2nd question, Option D - Since they are local population of same species, they do have same traits. And as per given info, they do not interact they could not have acquired styles. So isn't this a Weakener?

This might just be me but it seems like the right answer to weaken questions seem long shot, or a bit roundabout..In Question 1 and 3, it's like building an entire story around it before you're able to call it a right answer.

Do you know the level of difficulty on these questions?In the 600-700 tier or lower?

for the last question, could option E indicate that it is important to know how long humans can survive before they get these medical problems?

I didn't understand, In the passage of "Kirlandia" I thought the answer is E since minimum wage is insufficient and increasing the minimum wage is important. The answer is here is C. Why? Can anyone explain me? pls

In question 4, choice E is wrong because we don't know if they used cutting tools to cook their food by the fire. They might cut their food to distribute the food or could be for anything. I think choice D is more probably the correct answer because they may inherit the information about using fire from their grand grand grand.. parents. IDK

Please give me these types of questions in exam. I got all these correct but struggling with the the basic questions from official book.

Hm... there is quite a few - they cover Math, Basic Grammar, Critical Reasoning and Reading. That's quite a gamut.... If you are getting these right, you are on the right track. Our suggestion would be to ckec out the most popular books gmatclub.com/forum/best-gmat-books-286663.html or GMAT Courses: gmatclub.com/reviews/ (many are less than $100). They usually do a good job covering all topics & question types. That's not a question we can answer in comments on KZread :-)

i thought the answer was b beacuse that implies that if ostronuts have the same capabilities as humans then their medical limitations will be the same or similar to humans and what makes them astronuts is them being in space so maybe this implies the medical limitations will be similar so if we can study about human limits in the space station on earth we should be able to be prepared for condition on mars ( space)

great video...but I have a problem with the last question of the video, actually with the answer. I think that choice C is a better than choice A. Because C states that no unforeseen (unpredicted or unexpected) medical problem will arise on the mission to explore mars. Which in turn the writer is assuming, that the medical problems that will appear on the space station are gonna be similar to those which will appear on Mars. That's why writer is assuming that it will be beneficial for the future mars expeditions......... I just think it is logically more correct than choice A. Can you please tell me where I am getting it wrong?

Hi - quick question. I don't get why the 500k year option in Q4 was wrong. The conclusion is that charred bone fragments are evidence of use of fire by early hominids. while the paragraph provided the 1m years supporting line, the question did not ask us to stregnten the paragraph but the conclusion provided to us in the question itself. Therefore the 500k=/=1m should not be a concern. The fact that there is hard evidence 500k years ago that the conclusion is true should make it a strong choice. Please let me know where I'm going wrong. Thanks!

The first question asks which one weakens the author's argument. Then, shouldn't the answer be that hotels after 1930 can accommodate more people?

In order to be an expert, you should have a Ph.D, do you have one?

Q4- we need to strengthen that charred bone fragments are evidence if the use of fire by early hominids. Option selected tells that fragments found in layer of limestone which had tools that were used by early hominids. Where is the evidence of use of fire by hominids.? It can just as easily be a forest fire that occurred at the time of hominids, use of fire by hominids is not being reinforced. Presence of hominids at that time is being reinforced

Is it bad that I got all the answers wrong? 😭😭😭

Not really. It's just that you need to revisit basics of Critical Reasoning.

#1 C and E strengthen the arguement. I don't see how that would be the number 1 choice. A has nothing to do with pre-1930 vs post-1930 hotels. That leaves B/D. B - does not say anything about craftsmanship same as A. it's possible that since the hotels built before 1930 are smaller they received more "care and effort" than larger hotels built after 1930s. BUT the question isn't talking about care and effort put into large vs small hotels, eliminate B too much of a stretch. This leaves D which makes sense because all hotels with poor craftsmanship have been destroyed.
