What a true professional in every way! I appreciate you taking the time to make these videos.
Super helpful! Thanks as always for these videos, they’re great.
This was a great refresher for me. I haven’t glued tires in a long time. I’ve been purchasing pre mounts, and it really limits what tires you can purchase. I just bought some new j concept reflex tires for my Truggy, and stalkers for my buggy. Can’t wait to glue em up and hit the track. Thanks Adam!
Thanks for getting so in-depth on this. I feel like I have gluing my 1:10 scale tires down to a science but man my latest 1:8 tire gluing was a disaster. Picked up some nice pointers here and some good insight on gluing inserts vs not.
Thank you Adam great video to watch for a refresher!

My pleasure, thank you.
Really enjoy these in depth how to vids. I’m still honing my skills at tire glueing. My first set of JConcepts tires had an unbelievable amount of brown gunk come off the tire. Good to know that is being changed. I have all the prep figured out. Now it’s about getting the right amount of glue. I tend to use to much.

Thank you Adam. I actually like Gluing my tires. This will be a different experience because I've only done 1/10 buggy tires. This should be fun. Great tip on the Inserts to wheel.

Walmart sells $15 rolls of microfiber towels where you get around 70 towels per roll, they tear off exactly like paper towels, Amazing product!
My man knows his stuff.
Thanks for the info Adam! My biggest problem with gluing tires at the moment is I can not find tires in stock anywhere!! Been try to get a set of green reflex (among other brands) for months now. Is there a massive tire shortage right now?? Enjoy your videos, keep em coming sir✌️

I think it's because RC is booming at the moment and the demand is very high.
Always good info Adam.. much appreciated! But for clarity, can you explain why/when it may be idea to glue the insert to the wheel for more side traction. I guess what I'm asking, when is it more beneficial to have more side traction oppose to forward (unglued insert) traction?
@AdamDrake

Just depends on what you need, but in most conditions I don't glue the inserts to the wheel. I have another video on glued inserts.
Do you store the glue with the applicator tip still on it wide open? Or do you remove the shrink wrap an put the cap back on?
hey mate..great job..keep it up champ🏆👌 i have also jconcept truggy wheels 1/8 for my tekno et. i see you have holes on the tires (i have also on my arrma wheels). to the truggy tires i need also holes.?? thanks

I prefer to put a couple of holes in the tires instead of in the wheels.
Your really a good tutor. Can you explain in a different video the reason why you punch 2 or 4 holes . Why some puck the sides and why. I'm new to rc and I'd like to know. If possible. Thanks for the video really appreciate it 😊

Hi there! Greetings from UK. Any benefits in glueing only the front inserts? It would be nice to get the best of both worlds!
@AdamDrake

I haven't done that myself, but worth testing.
Have you ever tried punching holes in the foam inserts? And do you ever drill holes in the wheel?
@AdamDrake

The bands help hold the tires inlace and increase the glue bond.
What about balancing? I noticed that with every set I've bought, the tires/wheels are not balanced, so I spin the tire on the wheel until it's close as possible before gluing, I've never tried to balance beyond that, I'm assuming you could remove some material from the inside of the wheel, and maybe go as far as having all four weigh the same?

Not a bad idea.
So you can store the glue in the fridge without a cap? Won't the air dry out the glue? I know you can revive the glue using Acitone, but I would like to avoid that all together.
@AdamDrake

I store it with the cap inside the fridge.
Hey mate thanks for these tutorials. Where do you get the blue towel from? I searched amain’s website but didn’t see it. We don’t really have that type of stronger towel in Australia so I’ll have to buy it online

What are the benefits of punching the tire versus drilling the rim?
@AdamDrake
2 жыл бұрын
I prefer venting the tires and not the wheels with the newer close cell foam inserts. When you put the hole in the wheel it allows dirt into the tire and it’s not able to escape unless you have a hole in the tire for it to escape.
What size of punch do you use for the holes on the tire

Yes, you should always punch holes and can do it after mounting if you forgot before mounting.
