my mom owns a nail salon and people always assume she’s talking shit when she’s speaking in vietnamese. truth is, she’s talking to her coworkers about their kids and what they’re gonna eat for lunch lol. when it is about customers, it’s stuff like “she wants french tip and a pedi can you do it for her” not shit talking 😭

I hate the idea that we should all always be maximizing our productivity and efficiency and treating ourselves like less than human, as machines built to work, work, work, endlessly and just barely holding on
