Para los cirujanos de Suiza u otros países de Europa, nunca es posible saber cuándo se va a realizar un trasplante, porque la premisa de la operación es que alguien muera, y nadie sabrá cuándo habrá un donante ni si la familia estará de acuerdo. Las cirugías pueden realizarse por la noche, los fines de semana, y en ocasiones puede haber dos o tres operaciones seguidas. A veces puede no haber cirugías durante mucho tiempo. Sin embargo, en 2007, el Dr. Franz Immer, cirujano cardíaco y presidente de la Fundación Nacional Suiza de Donación y Trasplante de Órganos, llegó a una terrible conclusión sobre los trasplantes de órganos en China. "En 2007, me invitaron a asistir a una conferencia de médicos en Beijing, durante la cual un hospital nos invitó a observar una operación de trasplante de corazón. Dr. Franz Immer, cardiocirujano y presidente de la Fundación Nacional Suiza de Donación y Trasplante de Órganos. Creo que si (China) puede mejorar, los conocimientos y el talento que tienen ahora serán un buen socio para nosotros, pero hay que respetar fundamentalmente a la humanidad". El Dr. Immer también dijo que la Fundación Nacional Suiza de Donación y Trasplante de Órganos tiene una postura clara de que no aceptará ni proporcionará órganos ilegales ni órganos relacionados con el tráfico ilegal de órganos. Comunicarán esta información a los pacientes que esperan órganos y al personal pertinente, para que más personas puedan conocerla. "La Fundación Nacional Suiza para la Donación y Trasplante de Órganos es una organización no gubernamental, una organización humanitaria. Debemos expresar nuestra objeción a este comportamiento (el robo de órganos por el PCCh), y todo el mundo debería expresarla. Es un honor especial para mí. Podemos dejar claro que tenemos nuestros principios. La dignidad humana y los derechos humanos son lo primero para nosotros y siempre podemos contribuir a ello".
