The all-new, two-episode presentation of Gloves Off, the revealing series that brings fight fans compelling behind-the-scenes access in the lead-up to highly-anticipated PBC on Prime Video boxing events. Gloves Off: Canelo vs. Munguia, narrated by Barry Pepper, premieres on Prime Video today, and takes fans far beyond the ring. The series blends footage and stories of the two fighters’ lives, families, training camp team members, and training camp activity as the build-up increases to the highly-anticipated Cinco de Mayo weekend showdown in Las Vegas.
Squaring off in the May 4 blockbuster event will be Undisputed Super Middleweight World Champion and Mexican icon Canelo Alvarez placing his world title on the line versus rising Mexican star Jaime Munguia, an unbeaten former world champion. Benavidez is a bully and has been able to weigh 175 lbs for a while, and he does not want to face the winner of the Beterbiev vs Bivol fight, when they were going to give him the position to fight. There are levels, and Benavidez is not at the level of Canelo, we already know who dared to face 175 lb fighters without fear, and being smaller and a thug who rehydrates close to 200 lbs, apparently he is afraid

Because he’s past his prime and has been showing signs of it in his last few fights, plus he’s had surgeries on his knee, wrist, etc. This will also be his 65th fight, and he knows David is bigger, younger, and can knock him out. So why fight him? When he can fight guys like this and still make some millions and reduce the risk of a knock out defeat? I hope it happens but Canelo doesn’t seem interested at all.

Benavides is running to 175lbs weight division to avoid fighting David Morell. Benavides was supposed to fight David Morell last November and instead he fought 35 yr old rusty Andrade. Andrade was unemployed for 2 years. 😂
