When I bought an OLED monitor over a year ago, I thought it was broken, since I could see the flickering all the time and NONE of the reviews said anything about this. A year later and suddenly people talk about this. Like WTF?

Asus warranty always worked great for me

For future reviews I'd be interested in the maximum brightness in the locked mode since that is how I always want my monitor to operate.

I'm sure the review is nice and all, but personally I'm not buying anything from ANUS ever again...

I am a big fan of glossy. Yes it reflects things in a bright environment(you did good job showing it) but our smartphones and TV's are like that and we are fine. When you put a glossy panel next to matte one you immediately see great difference on colors and blacks to the point that a good IPS glossy panel can look better than an OLED matte panel. So the difference can be different tech kind of difference just by choosing glossy over matte therefore i can't see the attraction in matte unless you are constantly using the screen in a reflecting environment with lights and never in the dark.

Now make a gorilla glass version of the PG27AQDP

unfortunate its asus and possibly exclusive since asus warranty issues going on right now being extremely anti consumer. I would have hoped for an ultrawide option of this and a different brand

2024 and we finally get a phone stand wow. It's like Christmas all over again.

I'm glad glossy is making its way to monitor market again. Looking forward to more oled glossy monitors.

I had big difficulties finding a good monitor, or atleast which one I should get, I got a Dell G2724D 1440p monitor, but the colors were kinda meh imo, atleast compared to my old 1080p monitor, as well as the blacks, what should I look for when choosing a monitor if I want better colors and contrast?

Better color and contrast is what OLED does well. So you want an OLED panel instead of an LCD or mini Led. Glossy is also better for contrast and colors. So basically you want something like this monitor.

By my own Asus experiences Im done with their products until excellence is back in the table for costumes services quality and respect.

I'm waiting for a 34" Glossy WOLED ultrawide.

Problem with ASUS warranty is that it isn't worth a ****, they'll most likely reject your claim no matter how valid it is, I'm never buying an ASUS product ever again.

Havent heard anything good about Asus customer service, but the price is good if its discounted for 600€ i might give it a shot in some months. I dont know if you send these back or not but id like to know what oled you would use, when you say great monitor, great enough that you would use it? Or do you have something better?

OLED/QD-OLED lijkt mij echt interessant wanneer naast burn-in zorgen, ook zorgen over de snelle degradatie van het scherm en de lage helderheid niveaus ontnomen worden voor mij als consument. Tests van Monitors Unboxed en RTTings hebben aangetoond dat die nieuwe OLED en QD-OLED schermen snel degraderen, namelijk binnen 2 tot 6 maanden al geloof ik. 8 uur per dag aan, met self-care software van de fabrikant en op een normaal tot hoge helderheid, met redelijk veel statische beelden.

Daarom kies ik liever LG, of je nou voor ASUS gaat met W OLED dat maakt niet uit want het komt van LG. LG kent dit technology beter en die van LG hebben haast nooit burn-in en redelijk garantie die nieuwe W OLED van LG is veel beter dan deze van ASUS niet alleen is het meer simplistic qua design het heeft geen branding logo zoals ASUS voor 27 inch is 1440p okay ish maar die nieuwe 32 inch 4K W OLED is echt haar scherp dat zelf de W OLED 27 inch van LG en ASUS niet so scherp is ipv 4K en met W OLED een hoger resolutie is echt serieus wereld van verschil gaming in HDR ziet er ook beter uit op de 4K dan 1440p en ja het is zeker het extra geld waard geloof me je zal me later nog zelfs bedanken :)

Prices are coming down so fast I'm holding out for a 4k oled

@@BOZ_11 the difference between 1440p and 4k on 27inch is highly visible, I have both side by side. I don't know why people keep pushing this narrative. Sure you don't need it, but its still a 2.25x increase in resolution and looks MUCH clearer.

@@franda777 it's not about nominal resolution, it's about pixel density. Anybody who uses scaling on their OS (anything above 100%) has picked the wrong pixel density for them, by virtue of the fact that they found 100% too small! I won't reply past this point

Glossy OLED monitors are here? Literally every one I've seen is glossy including the one I have, the Alienware AW3423DWF, it has an anti glare coating, but still a glossy panel. Really it's my biggest problem with OLED monitors right now, I really want a proper matte panel as I hate the glare from glossy monitors as it's distracting, makes parts of the screen not really viable because of the glare, and the glare gives me migraines so room lighting location needs to be super specific to not cause issues.

There's different levels of AG, but they've all been AG so far except for the FO48U from Aorus which is basically a CX TV with a displayport. This is a proper glossy monitor, which is a significantly different experience from the AW2423DWF. Haven't heard of any monitors going the other way and becoming proper matte unfortunately.

The Glossy still has a film protecting against light but not as strong as the ones on their glossy OLED TV's. But having that much light in your room specifically behind you is just dumb to have it there. As it reflects on your screen even with a matt finish screen it would still bother the panel with a grey glow. Place n adjust your lighting not directly to you/screen upwards to the wall it will enlighten room instead of your screen. Going OLED with matt coating is a loss of color saturation something you don't want with an OLED. It's like buying an OLED and not be able to use it's full potential then you better off with mini led w matt finish.

HDMI 2.0? 🤔

What’s the main difference between this and the older Oled version? Because the older one is still more expensive than this new one. Apart from the glossy finish, does this lack something the previous one had?

I honestly can’t remember the old one having anything this doesn’t. Hdmi 2.1 is the main oversight but iirc the old one didn’t have it either.

I came here to see how many are raising the Asus warrenty and customer service reality? Every tech tuber asked to test a Asus product should be making their viewers aware of Asus shady practices.

360hz is not a big difference over 240hz.

While glossy OLED panels are common, I think the key selling point of this monitor is it's the first glossy WOLED panel. Glossy WOLED is uncommon (yet), and most of the WOLED gaming monitors recently released have a matte finish. This one does not. I don't know if that's the case with smart TVs. It would be nice if Asus released a 4K glossy WOLED. But yeah, the warranty and how they treat their customers... 😬

Need lg to pull head out the sand and actually make a 42 c4 capable of 240hz id get that over any other oled

There is some wrong information in this Video. This Monitors HDR peaks well over 1150 Nits. I dont know how they say its only 800 Nits… Something is really off here

I bought an OLED TV for far less than an OLED monitor. I think a lot of people have bought TV's, OLED ones, as gaming monitors. You seem to get far far more features than OLED monitors and greater sizes. Granted latency and size are issues with a TV, unless you wall mount it. But you can get a HDMI 2.1 X 4 connections in LG TV's.

The internal gsync module can't do hdmi 2.1 so no one use it anymore. Besides it's only benefit is that it does variable overdrive and oleds don't need any overdrive so there is zero reason to put one in an oled monitor.

The panel isn't the only glossy thing in this video.

Glossy always 10 times better than anything. Better colours contrast everything looks better.

If I need a mirror, I will order a mirror. If I need Christmas decoration, I will order Christmas decoration. The problem with many pc parts is that the market is dominated by Asians. They want RGB, they want glossy screens, and they expect us to adapt to their bad taste. Glossy screens hurt your eyes. You can barely read text on them, so why would anyone in his right mind buy them?

I've been running an HP 24" glossy panel for 10 years and I've been hating every second. You can use it only in total darkness and still if there's a single light source it will bump in your screen, especially if you run dark mode apps. You want crisp colors, just pick a better panel.

i use my phone for calls only because of glossy screen
