I missed your glossier reviews so much. I’m personally not the biggest pencil liner fan but the green liner, patina will probably be bought during the holiday season in order to draw holly. Nice to hear that they’re creamy. I’d just love hear your thoughts on other launches as of recently like a glossier catch up of sorts

I love this line from Glossier. A perfect gateway to start experimenting with more fun looks. Natural makeup with a pop of color on the eyes is just stunning. That navy looks like a perfect complement to brown eyes!

This is a good update on the brand, I personally have always loved Glossier aside from that crazy hype machine of yesteryear. They're a good reliable staple with some hero products. Their Generation G lip colours are something I will always repurchase because the formula is one of a kind (I just wish they would release more colours!!). I also really appreciate the price of their products, they're priced high enough to match the quality, but low enough to entice me back when I run out of something. I am excited to see them rebuild as a company and keep doing what they do best.

I was obsessed along with everyone a few years ago but when I finally made a few purchases I was disappointed with most of the products. The older pencils were too stiff and dry, the blushes irritated my skin, and the skywash came in the tiniest package and was difficult to work with. I'm intrigued by some of these colors and the new creamier formula. I'm hopeful that the new CEO will help to bring Glossier back to life. Looking forward to at least checking out these products in person for the first time at a store opening near me soon!

Love the honesty of the video, I bought Fresco (fun alternative to brown or black but still wearable i think) ♥️

I LOVE Sophie Floyd for simple but colourful eye looks and her videos have the same calm relaxing vibe as yours :)

I've needed to re-up my Lash Slick (my favorite mascara ever, it just feels like wearing a whisper even when I build it up!) and I've had Kiln and Patina sitting in the cart with it for a week now. I think this might be just the nudge I needed! I saw a gorgeous photo of Lucy Boynton wearing just a bit of pale, pale blue on the inner corners of her eyes, so I have designs on Patina... and Kiln will just be so pretty once autumn hits. What a great Monday morning gift to start the day! Coffe and Matilda ☕️☕️☕️. I love eyeliners to be on the creamy khol side, and stabilise later. If they are too soft to be precise i use them on a liner brush to finish the cat eye or make the line smoother. These remind me of the urban decay liner launch , those were also colorful , creamy smudgable and set on the eyes. Right now i have matte black and matte dark forrest green khol from an italian brand , pupa. They have a huge range of liners from the softest non setting kajals to completely waterproof ones with great colorful and pearly options.

Yay! They have a matte lavender!! It’s always surprising that more brands don’t release matte light lavender eye pencils. That’s all I wear on my waterline…it looks way more natural and brightening than white or nude. Which this one were a little bit lighter in tone, but I might give it a try!

I have Rococo, which isn't cover here, but I just ordered the Mist eyeshadow trio, and after your review, I'm very interested in layering Muse underneath and see how that would look. Another stellar review of Glossier, my favorite brand!

I was on the fence about this product but you convinced me to purchase!!

Unfortunately I won't be trying the whole range Nidhi, my contact at the brand left so I'm not on their PR list anymore. I'll try to take a look when they launch in Sephora Australia and I'm very excited to see other creators' swatches! 😍 x

I went to the Covent Garden store and managed to swatch these, and just from swatches I had never wanted an eyeliner pencil more! They were so so creamy and pigmented! I couldn't decided which colour I wanted and knew if I got one I would want them all so I decided to leave it for now but... never say never!

Hi! I love this video and I was watching your black honey dupe video and I realized that the revlon super shine lipstick that you tried is the same one I use everyday and it’s very similar to black honey but it’s not in the shade you tried! Mine is in rum raisin (classic! ) and it’s almost exactly the same!

Colorslide in Magic Carpet was my holy grail for a hot minute but I agree with u, I really would like some shimmery shades for added dimension!! For me, brands like Tower28 and Rare Beauty have replaced some of my previous Glossier faves

Been going a bit crazy trying to find a dupe for the Adult Swim color slide pencil. It was the perfect rich sapphire blue, not so dark that it read black but not too bright like many of the matte cobalts available from many brands.

Honestly had to revisit matildas video after finding out that glossier’s coming to Sephora!

I had Play’s Hardcore Velvet and although I LOVE the color, it was one of the worst eyeliners I’ve ever used! It was so soft and it smudged ALL OVER my eyes! Granted I have oily eyelids but this liner would transfer so badly on my bottom lash line and under eye area that by the end of the day I would look like a sad clown! I’m interested in trying out this new formula but I don’t have high hopes for these!

Oh no, sorry to hear Lila! I feel like these have more of a dry down effect than Colorslide did (interestingly that formula didn't move around on me and I have oily eyelids too) but the extra softness and creaminess here might mean the smudging result is amplified for you 💔 x

I can probably use like three of the colours, but I would love some more shades. I do miss your Glossier videos, but as an Aussie, I've been hoping for shipping for years now.

Thank you Harnish! I'm a big fan of the VB Beauty liners too (the shade Bordeaux is beautiful) but I think these feel even softer and creamier. I guess it depends on your preference and whether very soft and creamy is a good or bad thing! 😄🤷‍♀️ x

Oh god, their colour slide in Pretty Penny was my all time favourite eye liner EVER! So gutted it was discontinued 🤦🏻‍♀️

Unfortunately not Olivia, I haven't looked for a dupe for it before! You might have some luck online if other people have tried to replace those liners? I don't know if it's similar in tone at all, but another copper liner I love is Copper Charge by Charlotte Tilbury ✨ x

I love the No 1 eyeliners.. wish they would come out with a shade to replace Fuzz Club but maybe it will be a later shade release much like what happened for Colorslide!

Have you tried Florence by mills eyeliners?

I am SO annoyed that they still don't ship to Germany. I can get soooo much obscure indie make up, but one of the biggest brands is still impossible to get if I don't want to try eBay or use some sort of dubious shipping service. Insane to me. I would love to test these out, your video really made me want to try them and your glossier series was how I found you :)

I’m actually going to pass on these because, like you, I prefer a bit of shimmer to my eyeliners as they brighten up the look. (I still regret missing out on the Black Tie set!) I always look forward to your videos as they are simple, elegant and all about the swatches.

Personally always a pencil liner fan ahead of liquids! ✏️ I just find them more user friendly when you're not as experienced with liner (and they usually come in a lot more colours), but everyone has different preferences x

I miss Brack - it was the perfect dark brown because of the touch of grey in it

I am sad I missed out on the other Play liners. I was looking the other way.

So (coincidentally) MAC Cosmetics have recently launched their new Colour Excess Eyeliner pencil....which I am afraid might replace my go-to Technakohl pencil (which has the perfect dark brown shade, Photogravure). I love an eyeliner that doesn't need sharpening.

Yes, the brand says these are 'suitable to wear on the waterline'! I usually have trouble getting products to work there given my eyes are so watery so I rarely line my waterline, but these were soft enough for me to use there 👍 x

Not Glossier but I do have brown, blue and purple eye pencils that I occasionally use at lower lash line💙 However I am 100 % liquid eyeliner person 🙊 can recommend Sephora collection liquid eyeliner in black or navy 🙌🏻🙌🏻

Ps. That's probably an unusual product to name when many others are so popular, but it's one that has lasted the test of time for me 👍 (I did film a video on my Glossier Favourites across makeup and skincare a few years ago if that's more helpful!) x

I have exactly two eyeliners: Nyx pencil SPE902 Brown and Lioréal Super Slim liquid liner in Black. I am boring. In my defense I am in my 50s and those super bright colors may not look appropriate for someone with silver gray hair, an extra chin, and greenish hazel eyes. Mascara is ALWAYS black, currently Benefit They're Real Magnet. Foundations only get applied for the stage, but a tinted moisturizer or BB mixed with my Neutrogena Hydro Boost City Gel (both with 15+ spf sunscreen) and a couple dabs of Benefit cream stick foundation in Paper Dolls or L'oréal True Match liquid in Creamy Natural C3 (also with spf 15+) for dark circles or spots. Eyeshadow colors are browns and pinks from Maybelline Nudes or Blushed Nudes pallets in various combos, with the darkest shades standing in as eyeliner applied with a very thin brush. My skin has a lot of red in it, due to those pesky hot flashes, so blushes rarely look right on me. Lips are almost always Nudes, with dabs of reds, pinks, purples, or browns blended in and blotted, with a little shimmer gloss for fun. But, now that I see how extensive your collection is, I no longer feel foolish about having 14 subtly different nudes, 6 pinks, 5 reds, and 3 browns. Each meets a need, depending on weather, season, and my clothing. Keep the color coming!

Now that glossier has anew more retail oriented CEO, I hope they can expand to international shipping or retailers

Love your videos and reviews but as an Aussie, Glossier is so inaccessible and definitely not as exciting as they were back in the 2010s. Legit have yet to see a product irl and I remember seeing the cloud paints on my tumblr feed back in the day - that's crazy for a brand in 2022. It's so weird to try and stay region-exclusive in a makeup market as saturated as it is, when customers will go to more accessible options with very similar products and prices.

Oh no, I can't order merit in EU. :( I will be living vicariously. That red shade looks lovely. I think i will replace it with the Givenchy sheer rouge interdit

I've moved on...I always wanted to try cloud paints but they still don't ship to my country. Years later.

yeah,, i still wish they ship worldwide bc it's been like 7-8 years now, and in those years, so many people all over the world have been requesting them to ship worldwide. so much brands that launched later than them are able to ship worldwide, so by now they should be able to do that. that's just my opinion, though.

Glossier is a pain to order from Canada, I really wish it was sold here somewhere like Sephora. I like the minimal makeup look a lot.

Glossier's website delivers to Canada doesn't it? Interested to hear your experience! It's a pain when they don't ship to most countries after eight years of waiting 😂 Sadly I don't think they'll ever partner with retailers, but hopefully they might open their own store in Canada one day! x

Thanks Danielle! My polish colour is always listed in the description box 😉💅 This is an old shade called Dress Call from Essie's Gel Couture line, but Essie Lilacism is fairly similar, just a bit paler x

I enjoy your videos but here I'm left wondering if this was a sponsored video, or whether the products were gifted by the brand, or were any of them purchased by you with your own money? The backstory doesn't invalidate the entire content but I always want to be very clear on how you got the products and why you decided to film them. Thanks.

I agree that this sort of context is really helpful and important Sanni - that's why I *always* disclose any paid partnerships or press samples in the description box disclaimer for every video (and also label paid partnerships with 'AD' in the title of a video to be transparent). In this case, the eyeliners were sent to me as press samples, but I only ever accept products from a brand if there is no obligation to review. For further background on Glossier, I was a very regular customer for 4 years before I ever received any samples. I hope that helps! ☺️👍 x

As I said, I only follow content makers who I believe would never promote a product they didn't genuinely like, but I still like to know whether it's something they thought was worth buying with their own money.

The lack of international shipping is ridiculous.

I don't understand it either Alli! In many ways, they're now past the peak of their powers and missed out on SO many international customers who were desperate to shop with them years ago in the height of their hype 🤷‍♀️ x

I’m not sure if mine is a dud, but I find these terrible. They drag on my lids and are tacky and impossible to defuse out. I ended up getting it gunked in my eyelashes trying to get some pay off. Really disappointed!

Omg what happened to Glossier? I thought they just dropped off because they started making the most irrelevant products but this eye pencil looks like a total must have. Tbf its been like 6 years and they still don’t ship to Asia or Australia and I think thats why I lost interest

It's been a bit of a wild ride watching on in the past couple of years Sophie! Some lacklustre launches as you said, but these are a better sign of what's hopefully to come in the new era... but I'm not going to bother wishing for international shipping in the new era just yet 😂🤷‍♀️ x

Love Glossier and I am super excited for this video!! These colors are absolutely stunning! Just a bit disappointed to hear about their new brand ambassador of choice. Not the best role model for young girls, personally. 🥺 Anyway, great video Matilda. Thank you for updating us on this company.

@@matildaonvideo Hey Matilda, hmm, I don’t know much about her. I see you have a rather different impression of her. I recently saw her in the news saying very angry words towards the Supreme Court justices in a concert, saying “we hate you.” Everyone is entitled to their opinion, I just don’t think that’s an appropriate way to respond. Felt a lot of hatred coming from such a young girl, a bit sad to be honest. Thanks for your reply Matilda, you’re a great role model! ☺️

I'm sure people have very mixed feelings about that Glastonbury moment and the greater issue of the Supreme Court's decision, but seeing someone so young standing up for reproductive rights and healthcare on that stage was so powerful and moving to me, it made me cry 👏 x

@UClLBaAzNuYzBSQjpDyp144w I guess for a young girl, I’ll give her a pass. She still has a lot to learn and how to respond with peace and with eloquence. Not everyone is pro-choice. I think Olivia should also know and respect that others are fighting for the human rights of the unborn, which is very much valid. Now it has been left to the states and the people. With such a big platform, I would love to see her be more mature in her counterarguments. Hoping for that in the future.

I’m a little disappointed you didn’t delve deeper into the diversity and lay-off issues. I feel like it’s important to hold brands accountable. While it’s obviously not your responsibility it would be nice to see more conscious consumerism. I still loved the video, your descriptors, and as always your extremely aesthetically pleasing layout.

Thank you for the feedback Elleitra! I've had conversations with the brand behind the scenes to play a part in holding them accountable, and stopped sharing reviews for two years (when they were the most popular videos on my channel, so that sent a message to them too). When the brand reached out recently, I wouldn’t have accepted any press samples or re-established that connection without asking questions first and seeing steps being taken over time, such as the company’s $10million commitment to equality and inclusion, Black-owned brand grant program, changes internally for their corporate and retail employees, and new hires to develop shade ranges. It felt like there wasn't time to cover all of this in the review (you can imagine that I get told to "just stick to makeup" or "get on with the swatches"), but I didn't want to not acknowledge the issues at all when it's something I've thought about a lot 👍 x
