Growing up in Australia in the 70s loved this song and the disco greats,,, still sounds great,,,🇦🇺👍🌺

those horns, strings, and rhythm arrangements by music arranger, Harold Wheeler. gave this song a much different twist than the J.5 original. this version 2 was a big hit. I have always said this, Music Arrangers have always been the unsung heroes of the music industry...there music contribution 2 a BIG hit record, is equal to that of the music producer.

Our top gay-club DJs engineered so many of those fantastic, beautiful songs, songs that sexy boys around the globe took to hard. A running gag in 1970s New York was that every black secretary in town who could sing cut a hit Disco song. Yep, the driving force of gay Disco was definitely S-E-X.

I'm 77 now and this song by Gloria Gaynor took me immediately back 45 years to that wonderful Disco era. Glittering chrome and glass places with floor to ceiling speakers blasting out disco music played by someone acting as a DJ and people crammed onto a postage stamp sized dance floor. Beautiful women who were there to drink, dance and meet guys and vice versa. Women were women and men were men and we loved that fact. Then, there was that great Disco music.... How sad that most of you missed it because it will never be back.

Dentro de la Villa Panamericana (al Sur de la CDMX) fue instalada ahí para divertir a todos los atletas que participaron en los juegos Panamericanos aquí en México. Reminds me the year 1973 when I listened this wonderful song for the first time. It has still the magical power. Gloria Gaynor is simply one of the best disco Queens😊

Gloria's version actually first came out in 1975. The Jackson 5's original version came out in 1971. 🙂
