Gloria Confides In Edith | All In The Family
Комедия
Gloria and Mike have been having issues, and Edith tells her about a time she had similar thoughts about Archie.
From Season 4, Episode 22 'Gloria Sings The Blues': Gloria comes home from work one evening in a total apathetic mood. When Archie tries to find out what's wrong with her, she snaps at him and storms off. Later, Edith gets to the bottom of Gloria's mood when she confides in Edith that she thinks that she has temporarily fallen out of love with Mike (something that Edith confesses happened to her and her feelings for Archie).

About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

Edith could act dingy but was actually very wise and observant.

I heard Norman Lear say on Wait Wait, Don’t Tell Me that before he took on a new challenge, he asked himself, “Would Edith approve of this?”

Yes, she was.
I loved the mother-daughter moments on this show. Edith was clearly the glue that held everything together.

That really hit me too. I will be married 30 years this September and how true this is! Even though life can seem so mundane sometimes, my husband will do or say something that reminds me of why I fell in love with him all those years ago.
True blue dedicated mother and wife … and mother in law…. Not many Edith’s around these days
I didn't remember this scene until now. Jean Stapleton's performance at the kitchen table illustrates why this show stood head and shoulders above most of Norman Lear's other vehicles. The cast's ability and star power.
I wasn’t interested in this show back in the 70’s, but now I look at these clips, I realize it was pure genius. Watching Edith cook an egg was the most realistic thing on tv, I’ve ever seen.
Such a great sitcom they don't make em like that anymore💙

Actually, believe it or not according to Caroll O’Connor in an interview, this wasn’t a sitcom at all. It was a satire show.
Jean Stapleton, one of the greatest actors of all time. Such expressions on her face. She was amazing in the role of Edith. I love this show!
The wisdom of Edith
I can't see Mike thinking "Is she going through The Change?" like Archie sometimes asks when Edith acts emotional. XD
Edith was a good mom she was really smart.their mother and daughter scenes was so heartbreaking sometimes and so loveable the next.i loved that show.❤🎉❤
What a beautiful scene. Impeccable writing and performances. Thank you Norman Lear.

There were six writers, including Rob Reiner.
There was some profundity in this scene. Very nice.
Oh to have a mother like Edith
I wish me and my mom could talk like this. I know Edith is a character, but she’s a treasure.
This is the one where Gloria said it was a "crummy house" while her & her freeloading husband sponge off of her father who has to work 2 jobs to support them all.
This is one of the shows I want to watch on Jean Stapletons 100th birthday on January 19, 2023

Food is love. Don't you do nice things for the people you love?
So cute. Miss the simpler days with no profanity, car chases, shooting, gory death scenes, sassy talk no one understands, and just niceness.

@@obscurelyvague Not in the least. Sarcasm is a form of cynicism, which is a form of internal death. Try being idealistic, optimistic, and not liking blood, gore, violence for a change.

I forget sometimes how good tv used to be before cable took over and everybody mainly watched the three big networks.
Loved All In The Family!!!! I miss all those old shows from when i was younger.

Very beautiful writing ❤
Wish there were more Edith’s walking around this earth ✝️🙂
This show was brilliant.
Good one!
Food is love
Thanks Edith and Gloria
hee, giant heart-grins over this one.
She was a trip
Gloria should have divorced mike, he was a moron. Gloria changed her beliefs to fit her husbands and he abandoned his wife and son later

Gloria also cheated on Mike prior to him leaving her. . They were having a lot of marital problems.
That’s true.
In this scene it is really obvious how much taller Edith is than Gloria. I would not really notice it otherwise.
Where is the FULL EPISODE?
I don't think she cooked the eggs long enough
They got that social phycological phenomenon in the medical textbooks nowadays. I forgot what it's called though.
Jean Stapleton was a brilliant actor.

She sure was.
Rob Reiner was such a good actor. I would say he should have stuck with it, but he became a great director. Same can be said for Ron Howard.
Oh Gloria get a hobby girl. Complaining about nothing.
Those are the whitest looking scrambled eggs I’ve ever seen. Also Sally had the pretty blond hair. Her roots never showed.
He really was a Meathead.
Edith used no seasoning on her eggs & Gloria didn't say her grace. 😑
