Gloria Confides In Edith | All In The Family

Комедия

Gloria and Mike have been having issues, and Edith tells her about a time she had similar thoughts about Archie.
From Season 4, Episode 22 'Gloria Sings The Blues': Gloria comes home from work one evening in a total apathetic mood. When Archie tries to find out what's wrong with her, she snaps at him and storms off. Later, Edith gets to the bottom of Gloria's mood when she confides in Edith that she thinks that she has temporarily fallen out of love with Mike (something that Edith confesses happened to her and her feelings for Archie).

About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

Edith could act dingy but was actually very wise and observant.

I heard Norman Lear say on Wait Wait, Don’t Tell Me that before he took on a new challenge, he asked himself, “Would Edith approve of this?”

I loved the mother-daughter moments on this show. Edith was clearly the glue that held everything together.

That really hit me too. I will be married 30 years this September and how true this is! Even though life can seem so mundane sometimes, my husband will do or say something that reminds me of why I fell in love with him all those years ago.

I didn't remember this scene until now. Jean Stapleton's performance at the kitchen table illustrates why this show stood head and shoulders above most of Norman Lear's other vehicles. The cast's ability and star power.

I wasn’t interested in this show back in the 70’s, but now I look at these clips, I realize it was pure genius. Watching Edith cook an egg was the most realistic thing on tv, I’ve ever seen.

Actually, believe it or not according to Caroll O’Connor in an interview, this wasn’t a sitcom at all. It was a satire show.
