Globe Traveller Voyager Z at Caravan Salon Düsseldorf 2018

For more details and technical information about the Globe Traveller Voyager Z, please see: globe-traveller.eu
With the show in full flow, I attempt to make a video (with the help of Michael) about the super Globe Traveller Voyager Z. However, it's such a popular van that the video suffers a little as it has to be rushed. However, here is the video anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

QUESTION FOR GLOBE TRAVELLER: Hi people at GT, mine is not exactly a question, but rather a request, I see that most manufacturers are no longer offering a van on the 4.96 m Ducato, neither GT do. You do not see a market for that size? I would love to have a “city traveler”, easy to park and manoeuvre around narrow streets in old towns. Also I would like to congratulate you guys on the concept that you introduced last year, the GT on the Fiat Talento, it was an outstanding layout, I enjoy the fact that your firm takes fresh and bold approaches. The only drawback for me is that the Talento is a bit narrower, I would rather have a camper van on the 4.96 m Ducato, more squared and wider. Thank you, keep your excellent designs!

Thank you for your kind words! We are currently working on two new concepts which we plan to showcase in Stuttgart, January 2019. But we do not plan to use chassis shorter than 599 cm. It is not to say it does not make any sense, but despite lots of interest, the GT Rookie camper van did not bring us enough orders to start production. And to be very honest it would probably be similar in case of Fiat Ducato L1H2 camper van.

I bought the 1st one in Sweden 2016 and we use it pretty much all year around in Sweden as well as for longer vacations in the alps and the southern part of europe. This car is the perfect camper for us with 2 adults and 1 child (10yr). Voyager Z ticked all boxes for us: Big garage, Truma diesel, separate shower and outdoor shower, separate bed/space for our kid. I can highly recommend this one!

To be blunt, I find this van conversion more practical and better looking than the VW offerings. And for the price which already includes the solar system, this one is really good value for money. Loving the two bed layout without robbing you the ability to use the dinette still. And the water tanks are inside to minimize the possibility of freezing. I love this!

However you must have not seen inside an Autosleeper Stratford (based on the 5.4m mwb Boxer window van) which also has a separate lined shower cubicle with bi-fold door similar to the van in the video. We have had ours since new in 2012. It really works as a concept, the toilet can be easily used while someone is showering.

We have a Pössl 2 win vario, so I was certainly interested in this one. There are nice features, but I would immediatly choose the Pössl again. We only have to pull 1 handle to have the double bed above the seating area. Very nice if you are tired. Just like with this Globe Traveller there is plenty of space underneat in our van, except for the difference that we can stand up (almost) with the bed in sleeping position which isn't possible with this one because of the double floor. Besides that we have side windows in the top part which are great when waking up in the morning and looking at sunrise. We don't have a seperate shower, but we almost never use it anyway. Enough swimming pools to choose from, certainly in Germany.. In the rear we have the usual bed that can be tilted to the side so there is plenty of space for a bike (or maybe your motorcycle Andrew). The solution Globe Traveller uses is very handy for lots of people, keeping the inside closed when opening the trunk, but the shape can be a disadvantage it seems to me. Since we only have our 2 Newfoundland dogs in the garage, the shape inside is much more important than the advantage of a garage door like that. Sadly we didn't make it to Düsseldorf this year (although we were in Germany a little bit more to the north), hopefully next year.

Thank you @mishu! We know the rear seats are not perfect and we are working to improve it. Globe-Traveller Thats impressive! Is there a way to get the technical specs on this unit? (Andrew didnt speak about the galley for instance) Roadtrek here uses supplementary engine compartment systems like Voltstart to assist with wild camping and running ac which is compulsory in our climate. Our entire summer has been above 30c and sometimes 40c like today. It has made camping in my vintage fg trailer impossible even with the innovative systems I have employed. If I could buy this in Canada do you know what it would cost in CAD?

  • @GlobeTraveller

@mishu apologies for the confusion, but it would be without the A/C in the habitation area. Just a fridge, lighting and some heating (gas or diesel depends on the model) plus hot water. What I envision is a kitchen bench with utilities on slides that you pull out the back of the van. There are plenty of DIY versions of this on KZread. I don’t know if something like that would be in keeping with regulation though.
