The Bureau of Meteorology's Australian Space Weather Forecasting Centre observed a geomagnetic storm event which resulted in amazing images of Aurora Australis.
The Bureau first issued a geomagnetic storm G5 warning on 11 May.
G5 - Extreme planetary conditions were reached 9:45 am AEST on Saturday 11 May 2024 and G4 - Severe conditions were reached in the Australian Region at 7:00 pm AEST on Saturday 11 May 2024.
At this stage, we are at the end of this remarkable global aurora event.
