Israel doesn't need foreign aid, they have agreements with the US where Israel shares certain technologies with the U.S. or agrees to hand them the rights to producing certain technologies in exchange for money. If the US stops giving money Israel will just keep it to themselves and outproduce the US in certain industries like military aircrafts.

Muslims, Christians and Jews have lived together relatively peacefully before the colonialisation by OS migrants. They successfully did what RWNJs in many western countries fear from migrants- they displaced the people who had lived in the region potentially for centuries. If ancient historical claims were valid, why aren’t native Americans running the US? This situation wouldn’t be acceptable without the ‘special relationship’ Israel has with the US

Neoliberal CNN has been playing nonstop coverage of Palestinian deaths and "Israeli war crimes" and nothing about Hamas firing the first rockets at Israeli civilians. Nothing about the history of Hamas slaughtering thousands of Israeli civilians on buses, at restaurants, while celebrating religious holidays. Rising's coverage is indistinguishable from MSM when it comes to anti-Israel coverage. Your own bigotry and hatred in clouding your perspective. We did the same in Vietnam, when we persistently called any Vietnamese who fought against US occupation of their own country "the aggressor." And it was all their own country, because it was the western powers, including US, that divided them in the first place, after they won independence from French colonial occupation.

Israel won that land from Jordan, after Jordan attacked Israel in the 6 day war. The old name of the territory was Judah and Samaria. Before WW I it was controlled by the Ottoman Empire who lost to Allied Powers.

I thought they would show the part where the guy being interviewed says that israel was just exercising their right to defend themselves and when asked if Palestinians had the right to defend themselves too, he just refused to answer while making random noises with his mouth.

Not only that, a very important mosque in Jerusalem was put to the fire, while israeli civilians were cheering it. So even though Hamas did launch missiles against them. I would say that Israel were the aggressors, since they were the ones breaking international law in the first place.

And this is they actual progressives called out AOC in her word salad interview in NYC on this issue where she could not even reference reality on the ground, only abstract words of moving forward, the how, the what... it was too funny and sad at the same time.

I watched today a segment on CNN about the situation in Jerusalem. The segment was almost 7 minutes. 6.5 minutes of it was to tell the Israeli point of view. Only 30 second was given for the Palestinian point of view.

Perhaps because this is an extremely one-sided coverage. Is unprovoked Palestinians' violence towards Jews over the past few months not a factor that should be mentioned as context? Is it not relevant to mention that the terrorits who are firing missiles into populated areas is Israel hide beneath schools and monsques intetionally? What about the fact that the Palestinian children who were killed yesterday - were actually killed as a result of a shooting from Gaza, not to Gaza? And the fact that every time Israel tries to open borders, and make life easier for the Palestinian population - it experinces terror attacks on it's citizens as a result?

I'm not going to get deep in the weeds on this, but let's not act like we don't know Israel is hated by all the countries around them, and those countries have all freely stated that they want Israel's destruction. I dont blame Israel for wanting the buffer zone, but I also don't agree with some of the tactics and treatment of displacing people. On the attack, Israel was attacked by multiple missiles, which were directed at Jerusalem, which their missile defense blocked (if it didn't, potentially hundreds including children would've been injured and killed). Israel defended themselves and sent missiles back...it is what it is.. I hate war..being a retired vet of a couple tours downrange gives me the perspective of the dead and wounded, especially children. With that said, I totally understand why Israel is so protective and suspicious of its neighbor's, especially when you have Hamas down the road supported by Iran.

With the desecration of Al-Aqsa mosque, forcefully throwing Palestinians out of their family homes, prejudice and discrimination towards Palestinians, IDF murdering Palestinian children and IDF and Israeli nationalists instilling fear into the people, I would say Israel had those missiles coming. If anything, keep U.S. taxpayer money out of Israel.

I don't always agree with Krystal and Saagar but I appreciate them for hosting Glenn Greenwald, one of the few unbiased investigative journalists. I am not a fan of Ilhan Omar, believe me, BUT I defended her remarks against AIPAC in front of my conservative friends. I told them I wasn't agreeing with her, Ilhan was agreeing with me. I have long been in favor of BDS even before I ever heard of Omar. She just happened to get this one right.

GG is one of few American journalists working with any integrity at all.

This is our great dishonor.

I'm a bit disappointed that Rising did not cover the recent statement from Andrew Yang unequivocally supporting the attack on civilians by the Israeli military over the weekend. Rising has breathlessly followed Yang's rise in the polls during this year's NYC mayoral campaign, making it all the more surprising that they did not mention Yang's incredibly controversial and viral tweet that may have huge implications for the race. Hard to believe that it is an unintentional omission. At least Greenwald briefly mentioned it (Yang's statement).
