Damn I miss Glenn Frey! Our Generation has lost so many talented artists in the past six seven years the Eagles were just unbelievable how they wrote their own songs and that's what made them such a great band rest in peace and Glenn Frey.

There are The Eagles and then there is everybody else. They are for all time The Great American Band. Biggest selling album of the 20th Century " Eagles Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975" 26 million copies . I consider myself to be their No. 1 fan on the planet, for the last 36 yrs. I'm not old, but with Glenn's passing, I guess I'm not young anymore.

This performance was 32 years to the day on July 26, 2016. And it only seems like yesterday. 10 years after this performance, Glenn would welcome back Eagles fans at the band's MTV live performance in Hollywood with the never forgotten quip; "WE DIDN'T BREAKUP - WE TOOK A 14 YEAR VACATION." ...I think of you Glenn every now and then, and I guess I always will. RIP...

I've got the "Hell Freezes Over" cassette (that's right--cassette, and it still plays great!). The title of course was the comment that was given when they broke up. Glenn says the classic "14 year vacation" on the recording, which includes their first live performance since the breakup. Absolutely ONE of the greatest bands of all time, and now there will be no more. Miss you like crazy, Glenn!

It's the same for me. Every now and then Glenn's face and voice just pop into my head, like a soundtrack to my life. Vivid images of where I was when one of the Eagles songs was playing, who I was with, etc., and it really seems like yesterday. It's overwhelming to me when I realize all over again that he's gone; not a break up, but actually gone. He left great music we will always remember. Still, when I try to watch The History of the Eagles, I don't last too long before the sadness overwhelms me. Even though the others are still here, and they're all great, there can never be the Eagles without Glenn.

I think it would have been interesting if they had released an album of their greatest hits with none of the members singing their own songs. Don singing Life's Been Good, Joe singing Hotel California, Glenn singing I Can't Tell You Why, Randy singing Heartache Tonight, etc... I'm sure I'm far from the first person to have suggested it.

Reason they were good was they could actually sing and harmonize-also they were very very careful with interviews.

Ray Charles did not write this song. Don Henley started writing this song even before they formed the Eagles band, and Glenn Frey and Don finished the song later on.

N.J. Patton Henley says somewhere that the original idea of the song or the refrain to the song was something like, “Leo, My God, Why Don’t You Come To Your Senses?”.....to a friend he had.

Strange Frey would perform a song essentially written and recorded by Henley.

Nice to hear Frey sing it but I think Henley had the better vocal tone that fit the lyrics and melody. Would love to have heard guest Elliot Randell put a guitar solo on it. Elliot Randell is the studio pro that put down one of the all time greatest lead guitar solos in history. I'm talking about Reelin in the Years by Steely Dan of course!

Glenn was much more prolific than Don Henley musically but he had to start singing less and less due to the fact that Don was writing most of the material and his voice was much better. between the two. Randy Meisner and Timothy were the best voices in the band but they could not sing lead otherwise they would have get all the attention and people had to known who was the leader(s). R. I. P. Glenn.

Glenn Frey's voice was every bit as good as Henley's. No way Henley could've pulled off some of the songs Frey did.

Damn!!! Glen's pipes are incredible for this song! Nothing wrong with the great Don Henley but Glen should have cut this song. Wow! Wow!

It's weird hearing Glenn Frey sing Desperado when it was Don Henley who sung it on the studio version.
