He's right in principle. There are very real reasons to also have a less lethal tool at your disposal. In practice, it is complicated though. Incidents happen and within split seconds decisions have to be made regarding the right tool for the right job.

On top of that, it gives you justification in court when you tell the court that you had to use every tool before resorting to lethal force.

I have the SD, but can't have the pepper balls in NY state. The solid rounds are good enough. I practiced with it to get familiar and it's incredible.

Yes, I agree, I watched a few videos on KZread and was impressed by this non-lethal weapon's ability to stop a person from harming someone else without having to wound or kill them!

Got my Byrna LE a couple of months ago. Bought a bunch of extra ammo and cartridges.

Is the ammo little paint ball looking rounds like he held up? I saw one video where the balls didn't break hitting the guy. Are the ball/ammo supposed to burst open with tear gas and COX or whatever Beck said?

The problems that come to mind are, 1, the time lag between shot and the pepper taking effect and 2. I know some people who are immune to OC spray. Nobody is going to want to play when they are ventilated.

The time lag probably wouldn't really be an issue considering the OC is only gonna be effective if you get them in the face with it one way or another. Idk about the tear gas component though, that could put a twist on things

I have a Byrna and I carry it everywhere I go for personal safety and peace of mind.

@@andyroberts3619 You probably shouldn't need one depending on where you live, but you should contact both your local law enforcement department and the attorney general's office of the state where you live and ask them directly.

I've purchased 3 Byrna's since last year..... Fantastic product I carry almost every here in California🌴..... We are only allowed to shoot the kinetic rounds ( Hard rounds) but it's a massive upgrade from carrying Nothing...... They're essentially high-powered air guns and they have 3 or 4 models.... Entry level is their EP model that's $299 ( $330 after California taxes) Yes! Amazon also sells them

@@RUDEMASTER You MUST conceal the Black Byrna at ALL times so it doesn’t panic anyone…. The Orange & Yellow one can by Open-carry in California, however, I would only conceal-carry… Being able to practice this at home is the best

Yeah, I can do that. I was just afraid that it would be illegal ..the black one I understand cause it can look like a Real gun, but the orange one well, we all Know that's the neutral color that separates it from the Real gun. But yes, I do agree carrying it concealed. You don't want to expose it so everybody knows you have one

I have one, the down side is the pepperballs keep breaking at the seams. Not good if you're in a bad situation. Plus pepperballs are expensive.

Just don't use the chemical rounds in the 7 round magazine... Byrna has been very clear about this for the past year. Only use them in the 5 round magazine.

The pepperballs are expensive but much cheaper than an attorney, legal fees, time off work or possible jail time. It's not a solution to every situation but it really comes in handy most of the time.

These were called Ferret Rounds back in the day. The were 12ga shotgun rounds with liquid CS in a capsule.

It doesn’t come without problems. You should be sharing those two… Sometimes the casing cracks and leaks in the gun…

The Byrna is definitely a great produce, we have 2 launchers from them. Byrna is going to showcasing new stuff at ShotShow in a few weeks, so it'll be interesting to see what they are releasing in 2024.

To be fqir Byrna I'm an infantry vet and our gas hut training we got ht with harder stuff. Lover your product here in Canada put I would recommend kinetic rounds.

Hey Glenn, as a retired cop, I wouldn't put too much faith into that gimmicky gun with the pepper balls. they can work, but it's iffy and it's not something I would trust my life or loved ones on.

Woman who shot someone breaking into her home in Ft Worth was arrested last week. Her life has changed for ever. The Byrna would have worked in this case. I am an avid gun owner but do not ever want to kill anyone. Most incidents are not deadly and imminent and if they are and you take the threat out, good luck not being sued in civil court for $1M and not loosing, especially if an older white male, the bad guy in todays society.

It depends on the assailant and circumstances which no one can predict. It is much better than nothing at all. When was younger I got pepper sprayed and all it did was piss me off. Oh and had use of only one eye during what followed next. It wasn’t pretty.

Screw this pepper ball bullshit. Its better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
