Glen was one of the most gifted guitar players of all time. So underated, in my opinion.

@@HopliteWarlord I think what he was trying to say was Glen was more noted for his hit songs as a singer.... Not everyone was aware of his guitaring... Keeping in mind his stint in The Beach Boys and his incredible involvement in the studio with The Wrecking Crew..

We could try a little kindness these days. His guitar skills and talent is still he best to this day.
Now we have lost Roy Clark and Glen Campbell. I am again devastated as much as thankful that I enjoy their gifts.
Yes, America's got talent...and his name is Glen Campbell.
I never knew what it was like to sleep alone until I got married! LOL!!!
A true American treasure.
Glen was so much more than just a "singer" or great "guitarist," he was a total PERFORMER. No two performances of the same song were EVER the same.
Biggest regret of my life not ever playing with the great Glen Campbell you are one of a kind God bless you and your awesome family!
The man was simply incredible. Sign of a really good guitar player -- he uses his pinky. Even the musicians applauded. RIP Glen. I couldn't even tune your guitar.
Very talented man! He made playing the guitar look so easy but nobody could play like Glen! So glad I got to see him in concert before he left this world. Would love to see the full episode of this show.
the true greats make it look so easy. Anyone who has played guitar knows how cool that was. Legendary....

Glen just got better and better with age. A fantastic performer and vocalist, and established guitarist. And was at the top of his craft.

One of the few country artists I truly loved to listen to, and respected. The real deal! Killer guitar player.
A lot of people never realized what a GREAT guitar player Glen Campbell was. In fact, he started out as a feature guitarist.

He was considered to be the best LA Guitarist in 1965 but he could write songs and sing as well.
This man was truly genuine and real as can be. He had a lot of success in his musicial journey and lived the life that went along with it. I Love him. *RIP*

I remember seeing a Tv documentary on rock singer Alice Cooper who was one of Glens great golf partners.Alice emphatically stated in his opinion Glenn was one of the greatest sessions guitarists hed ever seen and a rare prodigious talent. This is reinforced in another u tube video when Waylon Jennings,Willy Nelson Chet Atkins Roy Clark and a crowed of country topliners witness Glen doing gnetle on my mind with blistering guitar break .the look on their faces is astounding. truly on of the blessed
He's making that Strat sing!

All Time Legend. One of my favorite Vocalist , Musician & Performer.
R.I.P. Glen, you were the best
Glenn is right as rain, as usual. That band sounds fantastic! True pros.
My singing and guitar hero, giving me hope and inspiration as a youth - thinking of his positive words and lifted by his brilliant music, that got me through a quite bleak, violent and bullied upbringing in Scotland.
Man. Just cannot get enough of these ...
A true virtuoso. What a talent that man had.
Fabulous!!!
A very VERY funky guitar solo, ... and (as usual) Glen hits all the right notes singing. What a magnificent talent !
What a class act. To drop out of that solo straight into lead vocal- that takes class.
miss him and his voice Love his music always
My most favorite Glen Campbell song! Thank you, for the song that set the path of my life to just try a little kindness. Most people don’t get that about me. Sadly, they are suspicious of someone who just tries to help others. 🥺
LOVE LOVE LOVE HIM 4 EVER.....GREAT PERFORMER
In every GC video there's invariably a handful or more people commenting that he was an underrated guitar player, to which I say underrated by who, the daft masses? Who cares what the daft masses think. They're daft. If anything, what's really underrated is his fashion sense. The dude is one of the sharpest dressers I've ever seen.
Simply the best guitar player ever, period.

@82Goors Here's some GC Trivia - He actually also wrote songs - at the early stage of his career he was a professional salaried songwriter in LA. Most were accredited to others and many he gave away gratis when he could finally afford to once he became a session player with the Wrecking Crew. There were a number hits among them for others, but hard to find which were Glen's due to so much 'ghostwriting' at the time. Amazing talent; equally humble guy.

@@OllieOverTheMoon OO, well said. It'd be hard to imagine that he wasn't a gifted writer given his understanding of music, but perhaps even amongst the his more appreciative fans he's always been recognized as a fine interpreter of others' music and it becomes known as "his". Ray Charles is another musical genius who comes to mind. It's a shame that for years the general public wasn't aware of his amazing talent, humor and good nature. Thankfully postings as these has revealed his enormous talents. Godspeed GC

@1223baddad So true. And oops - I forgot that the very first song Glen wrote was also his first big hit "Turn Around, Look at Me". So yes, the man could write great music - an extraordinary talent who despite enormous success, was really quite under appreciated (except by those in the biz who knew the true genius of his talent). Godspeed GC x2.
Wow I so enjoyed that amazing performance. I’m sad that I didn’t discover Glen’s abilities until it was too late to go see him live but I will forever enjoy his legacy and try to apply some of his talents to my very poor guitar playing... bless you Glen
A true a great message for everyone. Glen was a good soul. Sure his soul up there w Godalong W George Jones Elvis Merle Haggard Johnny cash. Hank Williams. Coway Twitty. All the Good ones Are Gone but never will be forgotten especially Elvis he's my favorite.

Great song, thanks for posting. Glen is a favorite of mine. I grew up with 70's/80's rock, but now see what true talent was out there and enjoy it big time now. We only think of rock for guitarist fame, but Glen is in the top 5 in my book. Outstanding!
Wonderful, amazing, what a cool and talented person. WoW! No other talent around like this man.

RIP Glen Campbell.
Glen did a major amount of work as a session player on many recordings for other artists and he was a Beah Boy one summer too...amazing talent from an amazing man....
One of the greatest players of all time.
This was one of Elvis FAVORITE song by Glenn Campbell I like it too but I as like The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world. The best.
The best!
When i was a kid growing up in the 70s i was into rock and roll like most kids were back then. In those days there was something real going on in our American culture called the generation gap. There was a kind of war going on between the old and young generations. Most older people did not like the young long haired hippie freaks. Along with that division was the music, older folks liked country and or singers like Frank Sinatra and they hated rock and roll. So i was a kid who would never had admitted to liking older folks music, HOWEVER without even a 2nd thought I would be right in front of the TV glued to it to watch The Glen Cambell good time hour every single week it was ever on. I will always love him and his music, he was truly a gift from god to us all.
Huge, huge, talent. Loved you, Glen.
Although he's known best as country song singer he actually can accept and sing every kinds of music of course distinguished guitarist God bless you
A DELIGHT talent!
Very nice vocal improvisations on this version.
While watching this performance I realized what a key role performers like Glen played in holding America together as a nation. His music reached people up and down the social pyramid and across the racial divide and made us appreciate what was unique about America. In many ways Glen embodied the promise of our nation now so sadly unfulfilled. There were other artists I would put in the same category, for example, Sam Cooke and Gene Clark. I'm in my 70's now and very glad my life overlapped with these artists. It makes me feel very humble and grateful.

Superb analysis of many talented musicians. Believe the current music divides the country even more. If something does not change, the country is headed to a civil war which turned into WW3.
his best solo !!
Love the wedding band as well. Great American musician!
This makes me soooooo happy!
Hot damn Mr. Campbell! RIP
He was on more records than I think anyone knows! For a start, he did Sloop Jon b With the Beach Boys. And most of the guitar work on hits of the Monkees! Last Train to Clarksville! He did it all! RIP
WOW
Best version.
Amo questa canzone! Rip... In pace amore... 😊😊😍😍🙏🙏🙏
Here's a unique thought. Glen could have easily been an integral part of the Eagles. He certainly had the guitar talent and the voice. What an addition he would have been.
What command of that neck Glen had, and incredibly fast fingers, even on a 12 string, just a great guitar player.
AWESOME
GREAT
We're desperately in need of kindness during the Covid era: to help all those needy.
