The reason what Brody did was wrong wasn't the escorting part. It's that he hid it from Rachel. Like you need to know if your partner is sleeping with other people, even if it's just for his job, for health reasons at the very least.

Condoms and stuff exist. And these are the modern days, a sex worker of all people *has* to be clean. They get themselves checked frequently, else they're outta business Yeah Rachel deserved honesty but he was ashamed of selling himself for money to pay his fees, nonetheless she should have known the truth and Rachel's reaction to that was something I totally expected from her. Brody was good, he was sweet and caring, but he just wasn't good with Rachel

A relationship requires honesty, and Rachel wouldn't be wrong if she didn't wanna be with a gigolo, those are her beliefs Brody actually cared for Rachel, they just weren't meant to be. I just wish Brody's exit from Rachel's life was handled a bit better instead of Finn beating him up

OMG, his face at the end... He doesn't want to do it, yet he needs to pay for school. And he's one of the best students in NYADA! This makes me sad for him.

Yeah umm... he was definitely seeing Rachel while at the same time completely unbeknownst to her having sex with who knows how many other people. He definitely should have been honest with her and let her make the choice for herself.

i mean, he could have played it a number of ways 1. he could have told her when he knew he had a genuine interest in her 2. he could have told her after he knew that she loved him as mich as he loved her 3. he could have told her on his deathbed i think he wanted to choose the third option, but then Auntie Tana came onto the scene

i really hate how the show villainized him after the reveal that he did sex work to pay his tuition like so not cool

The show runners didn’t understand poverty or being less privileged. Sure they tried to address it with Sam in one episode but not much else changed. They could’ve repeated his costumes more often or done something.

The problem is that he put Rachel's health in danger (not that i actually like her but this is a serious issue) by lying to her. He was sleeping with a bunch of people and didn't tell rachel. Who knows how much diseases he has. The sex work isn't what is the problem

Yes it is bad that he lied to Rachel it was a violation of her trust and put her at risk but the show went wrong by villanising him when he is in truth a young person in an incredibly vulnerable position. Like he was a victim of his situation and the show glosses over this

I don't hate Brody I just didn't like him with Rachel but this performance was awesome

I only watched glee a couple years ago but have been a fan of Marina since The Family Jewels album, so when I heard this song I was SHOOK 😭💙

Sometimes the elevator doors are in between the floors, so this might be the case or at least that's how I explained this scene to me :D

This story line still pisses me off. Brody was so much better for Rachel than Finn and made much more sense. They literally made him an escort because that was the only way that they could explain why Rachel would break up with him. SMDH.

It would have been a great growth moment if the two reconcilied this in some way. Either if Brody brings it up, which would have been the adult thing to do, or even after the fact.

I mean they made him an escort just because of how bad a fit Finn was for her... Finn cheated on everyone he has been with, but sureeee Brady is bad.

… you can do that without the sex worker plot line? And that doesn’t make sense, this is obviously not Brody being some random on a corner, this is obviously a decently upscale escort service and those always hold their workers AND clients to stricter standards when it comes to STDs. He could have exposed Rachel by just being a cheating asshole (which funnily enough, Rachel did cheat yet the fandom didn’t demonize her for that). And this whole idea sex workers are dirty is super gross and years later it’s still horrific people say this line or use it to defend this plot point as if it’s not super gross anyways. Hell, Artie is the only KNOWN character with an STD and he got that just from being a regular asshole so no, Brody wouldn’t have “exposed” her, in fact he’s probably more regular tested than the average individual.

This scene should be a movie!!!

Glee had many numbers and covers I loved. While there are a few songs I like more than this one, this is probably my favorite dance number of the show. Considering there’s barely a trace of the main characters here except for Rachel’s beautiful solo [I’ve always hated her character but I have to admit she killed it here], that’s saying something. Amazing choreography and shooting angles, the song was also great. And yeah, while this isn’t ideal, I really don’t see why they had to off Brody. Sam was doing stg similar (not the same, but close), and no one villainized him....

Marina+ Glee= perfection

I don't like how they treated him. He wasn't a mean people, and I get that being a prostitute isn't something to promote in a good way ,but he has his reasons, and if he could he wouldn't do that. I feel like the writer lacked compassion writing his story.
