planted this for the last two years, the ears are pretty but small. I'm going to keep planting intending it for meal or flour. Turning to Peruvian Purple corn for main crop and finding an heirloom sweet corn for fresh eating. Fortunately I have enough land for planting two types at a time with space for having true seed.

You have keep the pot moving constantly to prevent burning and use medium heat 😊

When I pop normal popping corn on the stove, I do a medium low heat and keep shaking the pan with the lid on the whole time. I even go so far as to hold the lid while lifting the pot and tossing the corn around every minute or so. Maybe it’s overkill, but that’s the only way I don’t end up with corn looking like yours. I’m subbing because I’m a fellow Texan and to see if you give it another go and how it works. 😁 Either way that’s really pretty corn!!

Thank you! I tried this once more after I made this, I shook it and lowered the heat, but it did the same thing… this glass top always seems to go to high heat no matter what setting it’s on, I’m going to try it at my grandmother’s house on her stove and in her popcorn maker and see if it makes a difference!

Try olive oil. However, an air popper with a cloth over the bowl they seem to like. Been a long time since i had that corn. It is great for a lot including incredible corn bread. (Hate marketing) good quality nutrient dense heirloom doesn't need marketing. Never did. Also, matters how you dry the corn. That makes a huge difference.

What beautiful corn! I have only seen these ears used in decorative arrangements. I have not seen them growing on the stalk. Awesome!
