They were the greedy ones, scamming people through false advertisement. If they were trying to prove the same point as the movie (which they weren't) they wouldn't have charged $35 a ticket. If you weren't aware, kids enjoy fun things! And sometimes parents want to take their kids to a place where they can have fun, just like an amusement park.
