This was the vid that pushed me over the edge to buy one, it's en route to Canada and hopefully it's in good shape when it arrives. Thanks man!

I currently have this bass and as you say, where the strap is attached it should not go there because the neck tilts

If I had a bought an Ibanez SR375 and it was having those issues, I'd be super pissed. But it's a budget ax and I recently bought a Glarry 5 string bass. I haven't played it or set it up yet but for a "knock around" bass that I don't really care if it's abused or neglected for 120 bones it's not bad. Most if not all entry level brands guitars are going to be on par with Glarrys and the like.

I’ve been playing guitar for 15 years, recently been wanting to actually try out the bass. This vid is what caused me to get this guitar, I mean it sounds pretty punchy, like a piano

Bought one of these like 3 weeks ago. For all the glowing reviews, both on Amazon and KZread, I was kind of shocked how many construction and design issues this bass has. To be fair, I bought it with the intention of using it as a modding platform, but I'm kind of feeling like I'm gonna have to go more work to it than I anticipated. The neck dive is an absolute deal breaker for me. That's gotta get fixed. Also why on earth would anyone put the upper strap button where it's located? It's not that way on the LTD F-series these are modeled after, but then again, those aren't made from cheap-ass basswood either. So that button's gotta get moved. Out of the box, the pickups had almost no output. I pulled the bridge when I changed the strings, and the finish on the back of the bridge was very haphazardly scraped for the ground contact, so the ground wire was touching finish, not metal. Pretty heavy oversight on their part. After correcting that, the output is ALMOST up to an acceptable level - but it turns out the pickups are super microphonic. So there's another issue. Like I said, I bought it with the intention of modding it out, but if I had bought this with the intention of playing the instrument as it is, it would have been an immediate return. As always, buyer beware.

Sounds like you got a bad one. Mine didn’t have that many issues. But with a cheap guitar like this you gotta pick your battles.

@@MTD1976 like I said, the neck dive is the biggest issue for me. It's so pronounced that I don't know if just moving the upper strap button will correct it enough. The pickups and wiring were gonna get redone anyway, so the poor balance seems like a perfect excuse to decapitate it and do a headless conversion, so if nothing else, I guess I got an adventure out of it.

I've used weights that clip on the strap to combat neck-dive. They were like 15 bucks.

As a drummer in the 90's and early 2000's I was subscribed to a gear catalogue and would sit and look but knew its unaffordable. The only way you would ever be affording anything is piece mealing parts to build guitars from almost scratch. Which is where you should be starting learning instruments is as young as possible and that usually means no money. Right out of the box it needs a full set up. The truss rod was so in the strings where touching the frets making it unplayable. But hey they send you a Allen wrench and the Truss rod is under the protective plate. After fixing the height of the strings at the head i switched to the Nut and the nut is way too high. Tuned it without adjusting anything at the nut and it seems playable like that. Any1 thinking about picking it up I dont think its playable out of the box. With YT. you can figure out how to build a bass guitar because set up and QC needs to be done by the user in capable hands. Theres alot of parts in the package so its a good deal imo.

I bought one a week ago in white. Is it my Ibanez? No. Is it my Schecter Stealth? Hell no. Out of the box, I didn't have to tech either my GSR or my Stealth, beyond tuning. I normally don't tech my shit, because I dig the raw, dirty sound of a raw, dirty instrument. However, my new bass has many of the same issues yours does, with the exception of the neck bow. I'm def going to have to set up this bass, new strings, might change the nut, and maaaaybe throw on locking tuners, but overall, I'm impressed for the price point. I did get the bundle, so mine was $109, plus $19.99 shipping from Amazon, with a $10 off deal. All in I spent $124 and some change, so, no. Not a bad bass for $125 bucks. The bag, accessories and the amp are absolute shite, but even my 20 watt Ibanez amp sucks, so, there's that. Bottom line, with a little set-up, Glarrys are great.

these pickups seem very large like for 5 string 104mm x38mm does it matter if it's a 5 string pickup? everything I read has 4 strings at 95mm , 5 strings at 104mm and 6 was like 118mm or something does it matter? I never had humbuckers. I just bought a Black BF HH that arrived today.

@@MTD1976 they might be 2 long parallel bar magnets? and thanks. I think I'm going to make the knobs, high mass bridge, tuners, and pick ups all gold. I'm rainbow chameleoning my Black PJ GIB bass, looking up the humbuckers for covers confused me.

@@MTD1976 the glarry burning fire bass looks exactly like the glarry burning fire electric guitar which is a copy of bc rich. They copied the look from their own burning fire guitar. I happen to know a lot about music and guitars so you know and I also have played for 33 years this December. I play metal, blues and jazz I also play bass. The way you claim they rip other guitar companies off isn't right. I may have come across a bit Insulting I apologize I didn't mean it that way.
