I love this version of this song Gladys Knights vocals give me chills and it makes me very emotional 😭 ❤️ because it makes me think of my childhood 😭 😭 ❤️ and a much simpler time and it also makes me think of my Pop-pop 😭 😭 ❤️ because he taped this special for Me when I was younger so that makes me cry like a baby 😭 😭 ❤️ I'm crying as I'm typing this life was good back than I miss the 80s and 90s 😭 😭 ❤️ so much

Classic Sesame Street oh to be an 80's child kids now these days should look back on this Sesame Street Theme clip from 88 and you will see this is what people mean by the saying of Old School Sesame Street thank you Jim for all you did on this show

All I can say is, that if I'm ever lucky enough to see Gladys in concert, I'll be yelling from the audience to have her do this song!! I love it!! And I'm 66!!!

OMG! Elmo is old! It says 1986, and I was born in 1989. To this day, I still love that show. There's just something about it that still drives me to watch it. Plus Elmo is my all-time hommie on the show. I'd probably stop watching the show if they discontinued Elmo as a character.

I like how Gordon, Cookie Monster, and Grover dance to the beat.

this gives me chills in a good way and puts a smile on my face and makes me a shed a tear cause it takes me back to my childhood and a simpler and happy time in my life when i was little and had no worries it was a very nice so happy to be part of that generation

That can’t be Mr Hooper. Because this video says this came out in 1988, and Mr Hooper Aka” Will Lee” Died in December 7, 1982. So it would have to be Jeff Smith or someone else. It can’t be Mr Hopper

*thumbs up* Sesame Street when /it was AWESOME/. When it was loaded with great music and educational pieces. Not political child indoctrination and poor entertainment with talentless celebrities. The new theme makes the original composer roll in his grave.

Now THIS is what I call a performance to see Gladys Knight and the Pips on Sesame Street was AMAZING and I do remember watching this when I was little and it was the 1st Primetime Special of SS that I ever saw and it was great to see everyone from the puppets and the humans from Gordon, Susan, Bob, Linda, Luis, Maria, David, Gina among others get into the groove was awesome I miss the good 'ol days of The Street, but Gladys Knight will always be known as The Empress of Soul God Bless Her This was back when Sesame Street had great direction, interaction and hey, even the entire gang hung outside Today's Sesame Street isn't what it use to be and ever since Jim Henson died, the show lost its magic and its direction
