Hats off to the BBC and everyone who worked on this, it's one of the most authentic-feeling revivals of any programme I've ever seen - hitting all the nostalgia buttons without feeling cautious or derivative. You can tell it was a labour of love. After watching the final I put on an old episode of the 1993 series and despite the obvious differences, after a while it felt like it melded into one and you forgot it was 30 years ago. Here's to the next series!

Honestly, this reboot of Glads has been just so amazing and the best ever...just quite sad it's all over now.😢😢 I loved it...perhaps the 2 winners at the end should have been surrounded by the amazing Gladiators?? This is the only series where every Gladiator is great in their way...will miss this reboot but seriously, well done and great show Beeb!!❤❤❤🎉🎉👏👏

The whole series has been absolutely awesome. I am so happy there's going to be a second series.

Loved seeing this every Saturday took me back to 90s when me my Dad and bro watched it religiously eating our tea ❤

I think the question is whether there's such a huge generational community in the US that fondly remembers your original version like there is here. If there is, all it takes is someone to make a revival taking the same attitude as the BBC did with this one and then the audience will come.

Gladiators might be over, but a season 2 of BBC' Gladators is right ahead in 2025

They need to fix gauntlet asap, far too easy for the contenders. Also need to bring back some of the classics like Skytrak, Tilt, Atlaspheres and Poleaxe. Overall though, great to see it back.

Mark Clattenburgh allows Marie-Louise to jump the start negating the average 0.16 - 0.2 second reaction time to the whistle! He then blows a near 3 seconds after the 1st whistle! Instead of a 2 second head start, it’s a 3 second plus start! Given how close the finish was, it’s a tainted win! I didn’t mind who won, I was neutral but this wasn’t fair! Check times: Marie-Louise moves just before 11 seconds, Ref blows just after 11 seconds and then he blows for the 2nd whistle right on 14 seconds for Brontë! The clock doesn’t lie!

The whole way through the shows rhe contestants have looked like they went before the whistle. Its probably a slight sound delay

0:10 I noticed a number of you are saying MARIE-LOUISE Jumped The Whistle At The Start & Her Foot Was On The Mat Before The Whistle Was Blown From my view having played it at 0.25 Speed Her Foot Was Only Hovering Over The Mat But It Didn't Make Contact With The Ground, So This Means She Didn't Jump The Start Whistle She Anticipated The Start Whistle & It's A Fair Victory To MARIE-LOUISE

Gladiators will return on BBC One in January 2025 with the return of the classic events in the original series era from the ball rolling Atlaspheres to the terrifying Pyramid, some new events, return of 8 Heats, return of the Christmas Special, Celebrity Special and some new Gladiators both male and female when everybody around Britain will become the contender or the gladiator in the future production.

How was there no prize money? There was prize money 31 years ago! The gauntlet must be challenging next year when the finalist says it’s their favourite! It tells you everything you need to know about the series! Laughable!I suppose no wonder it was easy, no prizes to be won!

Totally agree. It was blatantly obvious she jumped the start. It should have been a second blown whistle and a restart. For me it's a tainted victory.

@@davidfearis7335 technically she did jump the start. I did as you said and she didn't touch the mat but she's moved right over the mat which in any other race would be a jump start. No forward propulsion is allowed until the whistle blows. Same in a running race..

Sorry but has no one else seen what we have seen? Marie-Louise went before the whistle! If she hadn't Bronte would have won!
