    Love what you've done with this XJ ! Every part is well thought out and built with real craftsmanship. It was very capable before these latest upgrades, should be awesome now. Thanks for showing us what works, plenty of good build ideas here. Looking forward to more great videos, its nice to see great offroading with family oriented content.

    Nic cool to see your still using the disconnect in the front I have a 89 xj old school locked and trussed dana 44 up front and a 8.8 from an explorer locked and trussed in the rear with the sye and having the axels moved around so I can run the drive shaft in the front or rear comes in handy in a pinch and I love the set up super neat to ses how do like your gearing I have 4:88 now just went to 37 from 35 feels about stock for power and highway driving a bit slower but feels great in the woods

    37s and 5.38 gears with our 4speed trans is ok, my shift points are in right spots, Jeep drives 80mph at 3k rpm so if I don’t speed my rpm’s are 2300-2700 on HWY.

    I've got every single part , so far around 8500$ in parts, Ruff Stuff steering, YOTAMASTERS steering box and hydraulic ram , the custom built 30/44 Hybrid axle, trail gear leaf spring kit A, you name it, I got it! Even got the rear frame reinforcements, had to buy another ( Probably # 10 ) 98 jeep XJ as a backup vehicle while the S.A.Swap is going on , love what you've done to your XJ, you definitely built a near perfect On/Offroad jeep XJ, I've had so many jeeps but once I got my Taco Pickup, I fell in love with ( Everything but the Shit IFS ) her , and not building a Unibody MJ for what I use my ( Hauling Harley Davidsons around etc ) Tacoma for, and I have to have a extra cab, if you want to check it out, they'll be videos on my KZread channel and @frankrubicon_ on Instagram, also awesome accent, you sound like FPS Russia but real lol

    Question: why is it that so many XJ owners do not roll cage their vehicles? Love the knowledge you have on XJ's!

  • @4WDAdventureCrew

    @4WDAdventureCrew

    2 жыл бұрын

    Roll cage will be installed, when trail level goes from hard to extreme and driving style from careful to Full Send, till then if you know your limits don’t push them. But other reason is if I do full cage I won’t have room for kids in back seat, so that’s why I take it easy on trails and if I’m doing stupid stuff I kick all passengers out for their safety

    Hey bro I got a question for you Do you think the 2018 jl rubicon front axle will bolt on no modification required Besides re welding the spring perches and artec truss I have a set front and back but I haven't figured out how to go about it Not alot of company's sell jl to xj conversion brackets Any advice would be greatly appreciated

  • @4WDAdventureCrew

    @4WDAdventureCrew

    2 жыл бұрын

    In the rear all you have to have is leaf spring perches and delete all other brackets if you wanna keep your stock driveshafts then you need a yoke for 1310 U joint and you will have to push the axle 2 inches back to be able to use your factory driveshaft or SYE style of a drive shaft. Front opera and lower control arms are in exact same spot as the XJ Dana 30 the only thing I moved on mine is the coil buckets closer to the center of the axle and I swapped yoke to 1310 U join style if anything message me on Facebook I can send you some pictures of what I did

    Uh ya homie that's not how the disconnect works on that axle. If you somehow get the electronics to work on a switch to disconnect that shaft, you will still have 3 wheel drive. They designed that garbage to reduce driveline drag when in 2wd by "disconnecting" the inner shaft on the passenger side. Just like the old vacuum style, delete that shit and get a one piece shaft.

  • @4WDAdventureCrew

    @4WDAdventureCrew

    I know exactly how it works and that’s why I’m keeping it, with 32 spline shafts and my Jeeps weight I’m not worried about by braking anything, but thanks for your concern

  • @taffetasi

    @taffetasi

    You said you wanted to use it for 2 low and you can’t. It’ll be 3 wheel drive if you put it in 4 low. If you had manual locking hubs, then you could possibly do that but you don’t. If you wanted 2 low and have an np231, you’ll need a terra low kit or pull the front drive shaft out. I’m clearing the air for someone that is looking to do the same. The JL/JT uses a can bus system that controls the disconnect and lockers. It’s not as easy as dropping in JL axles and you have all the features. If I’m wrong then you should definitely make a video that shows how you were able to bypass that and how you control turning it on and off.

  • @4WDAdventureCrew

    @4WDAdventureCrew

    2 жыл бұрын

    It will only be 3 Wheel Drive if I engage front locker otherwise the driveshaft will just be spinning the spider gears and not give drive to the driver side tire because of the least resistance If you do not engage your axle disconnect the other shaft will spin but you will not have any front drive if I turn on the locker then the spider gears will lock up and I will have a drive on the driver side with axle disconnect disconnecting the passenger side then it will be 3 Wheel Drive if I do not turn on the locker I have no front wheel drive whatsoever
