Glacier Park’s Historic Hotels: Lake McDonald Lodge
For well over a century, visitors to Montana’s Glacier National Park have appreciated the hospitality and ambiance of some of the
grandest and most engaging lodgings in any of America’s National Parks. Glacier's hotels and chalets also served as the summer homes for generations of young women and men who staffed the properties each season - people whose lives became a part of Glacier’s story, and whose Montana adventures often proved life-changing. This video, prepared by the Glacier Park Foundation, offers a brief overview of the history of the park’s hotels and chalets, told in part through the voices of the summer employees who knew the story best.

WOW! 1959 Gear Jammer bus #84 Best summer of my life!!!!! What fond memories these videos bring to me! What a beautiful summer making fantastic friends, hiking , partying, etc. I have been back several times and each time I regret hiving to leave and return home. The scenery, atmosphere, people, etc. is unbelievably fantastic. I wish I had had the opportunity to have lived here my whole life! I could only get a room at the nearby motel (when at Glacier NP in 2016) but enjoyed several meals at Lake McDonald Lodge. One of the NPS treasures.
