For those who don't know, this is the Perito Moreno glacier in Argentina. The end of the glacier pushes out into the side of a lake, and dams part of it from draining. The lake water gets deeper, and finds a way through the glacier, and erodes it until there is an arch that collapses. It is a natural cycle, and a popular tourist spot. It isn't happening just because of global warming, but it is being affected.

I flew to Quito, Ecuador and then on by LAN airlines to Cuenca. While in Cuenca, Ecuador, I had time to take a tour bus to the town of Chobsi not very far away. There is an interesting archaeological museum there. Just a short walk North of my the museum there is a kind of wet pasture that leads narrower and narrower up to a trickling waterfall. Groups of tourists come here to see this mysterious and amazing waterfall, and while everyone sits to have their sack lunches. The high walls on each side could crumble in like sand, swallowing up anyone who happens to be be there
