The pick guard that most modern strats have is 3-ply - you can count the three layers looking at the edge. The GK-3 pickup will fit if you replace the 3-ply with a single-ply pick guard. I found an apparently genuine Fender single ply pick guard on Amazon for about $20, just installed it, and the GK-3 does fit underneath without having to cut anything. Hope that helps.

Can you fit a Strat in the hardshell case (the case that came with the strat that custom fits the strat) after the GK3 is permanently installed? It looks like it's raised off the body a decent enough amount to ask the question. Thanks!

i have a question please. i saw that you didn't use any of the spacers that are supplied with the gk-3. was that because after you cut the pick-guard, there was sufficient space? why did you lower all the saddles? i am getting ready to install this on an american strat and just wanted some advice. maybe i won't need to install the spacers after the pick guard is cut and i can just mount it directly to the guitar body like you did. that;'s what i'm hoping for anyway. thanks for the video!

If you have a tilt-o-matic neck on your Strat adjusting that is alot less work.

ah never mind... mine wont fit either and I dont like shimming the neck. I think I will go with the pickguard mod too.

Biggest downfall to this product. Who wants to take their instrument and drill into it?i don’t get it though because I saw Marcello playing it and he didn’t have anything on his guitar from what I saw.
