First time since 1995 and first time since the free language rule was reinstated back in 1999. When you add Ukraine into the mix, that's 4 out of the top 5 songs that were not in English. Additionally, the entire top 6 were either fully or partially composed by the artists themselves (no outside help from Sweden)

I love the jury show version. He changed the high note a bit diffrent, I got goosebump when I heard that note and that's when I know he will win the jury vote. and I was right~
The fact that he held a perfect pitch throughout the whole song but his talking voice cracked in the end when he said thank you 😭

But he was one of those with a better intonation, that's for sure. You may search for other videos made from someone in the crowd to understand why that must have been clearly difficult not only for Gjon.

Remove was fantastic....but gjons tears and tout luinvers remains my favourite eurovsion song of all time. Stunning vocals, great song...I still listen to this song every day three years later.
Switzerland, Italy, and France were such strong competition! Any of their songs could have won in other years and it really kills me that there is only one winner. It definitely is one of the strongest years in ESC recent times

Truth is spoken, in 2021, we had total lockdown and I graduated high school, so I had lots of time, I listened to this song, understood the story behind it, fell in love ,and from then onwards I religiously followed him ,every minute , every second, so much so that I stayed awake till 4am at night to watch the semi and grand finals (Indian time) and I literally was crying in front of my parents the next day that he didn't win ,and I try at all costs not to be emotional in front of them.. The best eurovision song for me from all that I heard , I was crazily obsessed..❤❤, what an exceptional eurovision year 2021

I am Italian and obviously very happy for our victory but I confess..this guy has ripped my soul with his interpretation..has the most exciting and extraordinary voice I have ever heard in my life, it stopped my breath, made my heart beat wildly and how much chills..if he had won I would have been equally happy..congratulations Switzerland for this absolute talent and for letting me discover it, little but sure I will continue to follow the career of this boy because he will go a long way..he deserves it..it will count nothing but my 12 votes go to him.. thanks for making me excited 🙏❤️

I have no words. The POWER. He didn’t have a fancy or extraordinary stage with complicating surroundings or a song that would go viral just because it has a weird feeling but he had his insane vocal abilities, his emotion and an insane song and managed to slay. I’m happy for Italy I really wanted one of them to win but honestly if this one won I would scream with no end. This song is one of the best Eurovision has ever seen in terms of music quality.

I'm English i dont speak French but I think the song has so much beauty and feeling you don't need to understand the lyrics. I voted for him back in 2021, he should have won. I'm still listening to the song in 2024 and it's still has powerful ❤

ok I have synthesesia and so this kinda does paint a picture for me! it's a black and dark grey kinda mottled gradient, with white and silver streaks (almost watercolour-like) and specks, like stars! it's almost reminiscent of a night sky reflecting on a calm sea.

It was so strong! So many good and fun songs. And the stage, lightning and production in Rotterdam was of the charts! We nailed it! 👌🏽❤
Had to come back after tonight... he truly is one of a kind. One year later and this still touches me deeply. Seems like I won't find artist so dear to my heart as him in eurovision for a long time.

Absolutely amazing song. Perfect performance. Beautiful voice. Fortunately he won according to the professional jury. And he was so happy because of that! It takes a lot of talent and courage to do such a performance and I hope he’ll have a long and successful career in the music industry or whatever he loves to do.

He is the type of artist you don't even care what he sings, you're just in awe of how much talented he is. I look at him singing like I'm watching an out of this world phenomenon. Just remarkable 👏

Gjon himself says that he wanted this piece to be a story telling about an explosion. I didn't understand a word, meaning and intentions behind it AND STILL he took me on a journey deep through myself leaving me breathless. And I've exploded. Pure, sincere talent

In interviews, he said that he doesn't really consider it a ballad and he cares about the atmosphere of storytelling and that the song itself should somehow remind an explosion (of emotions which each listener can identify with their own story), that's what I meant :)

WOW!!! I’ve just discovered Gjon’s Tears this evening because of a momentary clip on Eurovision 2024. So glad I did.
He won the jury vote and it was totally deserved! So much talent. I hope he comes back to Eurovision in the future, I want to see this guy win for Switzerland!

I personally think this is the best ESC entry our country has ever had and i'm so proud of him for ranking 3rd place. He gave Switzerland a podium position we haven't had in 28years. 😊

This is super beautiful, I was hoping for him too. Well, along with three others I couldn't choose between. Luckily Europe agreed with half.
Beautiful song, no one can deny that his vocals were outstanding. He was also so thankful for the votes he got, I think he's a very sincere guy. Go Switzerland, keep on sending those amazing entries!

Best Eurovision song of all time
Nemo was so amazing this year, but I still prefer this one, so far ❤️❤️❤️. Pure emotions, pure music no nudity or kitsch! My 2021's winner, and one of the best ESC entry ever. Hope he will perform at Eurovision 2025 interval act 🙏.

If you understand French I think it's pretty difficult not to cry hearing this. The lyrics are very esoteric and strange, but the meaning seems so obvious because of how he says the words. "Our two hearts beneath the Earth"

Just read the lyrics in english (that's not my native language either), and that translation made me cry. Wish i understood french, i bet there is even more power in those words. Some things in music and language just cannot be translated explicitly to other languages, but luckily it can be understood with heart and soul. This song is so captivating it's unreal.

I agree. I had been listening to the song for the weeks leading up to the grand final and just loved it. But when I saw the staging I was blown away. It really brought out the beauty of the song.

You should add... than most POPular singers in the world, especially if we talk about mediocre dance/pop radio music.
Whoever did the camera work on this, knew exactly what they was doing, absolutely flawless work between the choreography and vision, a true work of art
I say we hold Eurovision 2021 every year and choose a different winning song since there were so many masterpieces! 😁
